Introduction: Radiotherapy (RT) is an integral component of various multidisciplinary treatment approaches for pelvic malignancies, used both in the radical and adjuvant setting. Despite the improvement of radiotherapy modalities, pelvic radiotherapy often induces permanent erectile dysfunction (ED). However, post-treatment ED receives little medical attention, since patient follow-up focuses mainly on cancer recurrence surveillance.

Background: Pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) is a common condition in adolescents, often resulting in recurrence, prolonged recovery, and significant discomfort. Although multiple surgical approaches exist, the optimal treatment for pediatric patients remains unclear. This study aimed to compare the short-term outcomes of endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment combined with platelet-rich plasma application (EPSIT+PRP) and excision with primary closure (EPC) in children and adolescents with PSD.

Background: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and its subtype, plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF), are autologous blood-derived products that have garnered increasing attention as personalized therapeutic tools in the field of male fertility. This systematic review aims to evaluate the current in vitro and in vivo evidence regarding the potential applications of platelet-derived products in various domains of male reproductive health, including in vitro spermatogenesis, sperm preservation, treatment of male infertility, mitigation of testicular toxicity, and management of testicular torsion/detorsion (T/D) injury.

Strategy: This review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and was prospectively registered in PROSPERO.

Currently, infertility is one of the major problems affecting up to 12% of couples worldwide, with more than a quarter of cases being male-related. It is assumed that Leukocyte-poor platelet-rich plasma (LP-PRP) can improve the function of germ cells and serve as a regenerative substrate as a source of biologically active substances that play an important role in the process of spermatogenesis in infertile men. We aimed to evaluate the proliferation, apoptosis, and growth factors of germ cells after the administration of LP-PRP in patients with non-obstructive azoospermia.
