Article Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pregnancy rate in the double sequential transfer of embryos on both day 3 and day 5 compared to day 5 alone, in fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF/ET) in patients with the three repeated consecutive IVF failures. In this controlled trial, women scheduled for IVF/ET with the three repeated consecutive IVF failures were randomized to either sequential transfer of embryos on day 2 and on day 5 after ovum pick-up (group 1, = 60) or blastocyst ET on day 5 (group 2, = 60) as a control group. The primary outcome measures were the chemical and clinical pregnancy rate. Baseline and cycle characteristics were comparable in both groups. Chemical and clinical pregnancy rate was similar in the sequential ET group (40%) compared to the day 5 of ET group (38.3%) ( value = .85). It seems that the double ET does not increase the chance of pregnancy rate compared to blastocyst ET on day 5 in the patients with the three repeated IVF-ET failures.

Geohistorical events are among the most important factors determining population genetic structure. The Sea of Japan is an intriguing area because of its connection to neighboring seas via shallow straits (< 140 m deep) and the occurrence of deep-water anoxic events during glacial periods. Despite repeated anoxic events, species with low dispersal capabilities have been reported at depths deeper than the straits in both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean.

Objectives: To investigate the role of a neural pathway from oxytocin (OXT) neurons in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) to γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurons in the trigeminal nucleus caudalis (TNC) in regulating pain sensitization in a mouse model of chronic migraine and to explore the underlying mechanisms.

Methods: A chronic migraine model was established by intraperitoneal injection of nitroglycerin (NTG, 10 mg/kg) on days 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. The study consisted of four parts: PartⅠ: Wild-type C57BL/6J mice were divided into 4 groups (=6 in each), receiving single or repeated injection of NTG or saline, respectively.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent degenerative joint disorder that significantly impairs physical function and daily activities. While conventional treatments focus on symptom management, complementary therapies such as aromatherapy massage have gained attention for their potential benefits.

Objective: This study evaluates the effects of peppermint oil aromatherapy massage on functional impairments in KOA patients.

Background: Interprofessional Education (IPE) is widely recognized as essential for fostering collaborative healthcare practices and improving patient outcomes. Despite its acknowledged importance, there remains a notable scarcity of longitudinal research assessing medical students' readiness for IPE across distinct educational stages, particularly within diverse global contexts like Brazil.

Aim: This study sought to address this gap by longitudinally mapping and analyzing the evolution of medical students' readiness for interprofessional learning throughout their academic training at a Brazilian university.

The influence of transitioning between grass and concrete surfaces on resultant tibial accelerations while running.

Running over 'softer' surfaces is thought to lower the magnitude of impact forces. Current research is limited and inconclusive regarding the influence that transitioning between surfaces has on impact forces. Adult runners ( = 18) ran outdoors over a 50 m pathway that was half concrete and half grass at a self-selected speed.
