Background: New severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants may affect diagnostic test accuracy.
Aim: To evaluate the performance of two reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assays, DaAn Gene and Cepheid, for detecting Delta and Omicron variants.
Setting: Nasopharyngeal samples were collected in Yaoundé, Cameroon, between October 2021 and December 2022.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends Xpert® MTB/RIF (Xpert) and its advanced version, Xpert® MTB/RIF Ultra (Xpert Ultra), as first-line diagnostic tests for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and rifampicin resistance in children suspected of having the disease. Respiratory specimens (gastric lavage/bronchoalveolar lavage/sputum/endotracheal aspirate) obtained from 116 children with presumptive PTB were simultaneously processed using liquid medium culture, Xpert assay, and Xpert Ultra assay. Among the specimens from 116 children, six were excluded due to culture contamination (n = 5) or error in Xpert Ultra results (n = 1).

Background: In general hospitals, tuberculosis (TB) is an important infectious cause of lymphadenopathy, but its etiological diagnosis rate is very low. This study aimed to determine the performance of Xpert MTB/RIF(Xpert) in differentiate tuberculous lymphadenopathy from other causes.
Methods: A retrospective pairing study was carried out from August 2015 to July 2024.

Background: The Gene Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra is a Cartridge-Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (CBNAAT) for rapid detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and rifampicin (RIF) drug susceptibility testing (DST) pattern.
Objective: 1)To compare the culture results of samples detected as a Trace on Gene Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra with MTB growth in liquid culture. 2) To compare the rifampicin indeterminate results from Gene Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra with MGIT RIF DST pattern.

Tuberculosis (TB) returns to be the leading infectious killer globally after coronavirus disease 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) formally included targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) in its list of recommendations for (MTB) and drug resistance (DR). In this study, we explored the application of various clinical sample types for TB diagnosis and DR profiles.
