Objective: To evaluate preoperative serum calcium levels and their association with deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) in ovarian endometrioma.
Design: A retrospective, observational cohort study.
Participants: A total of 2,557 women who underwent surgery for benign ovarian tumors were initially enrolled.

Hypoparathyroidism (HypoPT) is a rare endocrine disorder characterized by low parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels, hypocalcemia, hyperphosphatemia, reduced active vitamin D (1,25-OH2 vitamin D), and hypercalciuria. Due to its rarity, non-specialized physicians often lack experience managing HypoPT. To address this, expert consensus statements were developed for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), considering regional differences and high HypoPT incidence.

Background: In patients with hypercalcaemia, assessment of urinary calcium excretion helps differentiate primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) from familial hypocalciuric hypercalcaemia (FHH). For this, 24 h calcium to creatinine clearance ratio (CCCR) is recommended, but others tests like random CCCR, 24 h urine calcium excretion (UCE), and calcium to creatinine ratio (CR) are also frequently used.
Objective: The survey objective was to evaluate current practice among UK endocrinologists and surgeons.

Evidence for obesity and vitamin D deficiency as components of a data phenotype for primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) is critical to understanding primary hyperparathyroidism. This study examined the association between vitamin D, body mass index (BMI), albumin total calcium, parathyroid hormone (PTH) and data from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Associations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D, albumin adjusted calcium, and BMI with elevated PTH were evaluated, with elevated PTH being defined as>9.

Background: Calcium homeostasis is critical for numerous physiological functions, and while total calcium is commonly measured in clinical practice, albumin-adjusted calcium is widely used to account for protein binding, despite concerns about its accuracy and lack of standardized reference intervals. This study aims to establish a reliable reference range for albumin-adjusted calcium using real-world data from a high-volume tertiary care laboratory.
Methods: This study analyzed data from 33,159 individuals aged 18-80 years, selected from an initial population of 106,920 patients based on specific biochemical and clinical exclusion criteria.
