Article Abstract

This paper introduces a new algorithm to estimate and perform inferences on a recently proposed and developed semiparametric generalized linear model (glm). Rather than selecting a particular parametric exponential family model, such as the Poisson distribution, this semiparametric glm assumes that the response is drawn from the more general exponential tilt family. The regression coefficients and unspecified reference distribution are estimated by maximizing a semiparametric likelihood. The new algorithm incorporates several computational stability and efficiency improvements over the algorithm originally proposed. In particular, the new algorithm performs well for either small or large support for the nonparametric response distribution. The algorithm is implemented in a new R package called .

This study describes and compares the performance of several semi-parametric statistical modeling approaches to dynamically classify subjects into two groups, based on an irregularly and sparsely sampled curve. The motivating example of this study is the diagnosis of a complication following cardiac surgery, based on repeated measures of a single cardiac biomarker where early detection enables prompt intervention by clinicians. Background: Aspirin monotherapy is recommended indefinitely for patients with established coronary artery disease (CAD). The aim of this individual patient level meta-analysis was to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the comparative efficacy and safety of clopidogrel versus aspirin monotherapy in patients with established CAD, most of whom had undergone percutaneous coronary intervention or had acute coronary syndrome.

Methods: We conducted a systematic search in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase to identify randomised trials published from database inception to April 12, 2025, comparing clopidogrel monotherapy with aspirin monotherapy in patients with established CAD who had discontinued or never started dual antiplatelet therapy.

In studies of chronic diseases, the health status of a subject can often be characterized by a finite number of transient disease states and an absorbing state, such as death. The times of transitions among the transient states are ascertained through periodic examinations and thus interval-censored.
