MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are gaining increasing attention, particularly because of their involvement in immune-related signaling pathways. We investigated the association between 179 plasma-circulating miRNAs (Plasma Focus microRNA PCR Panel) and 47 cytokines ("MILLIPLEX® panel) in 692 participants of the population-based SHIP-TREND cohort (age range 21-79) and two additional cohorts to present a comprehensive map of miRNA-cytokine relations. Multivariate linear regression models identified Bonferroni-corrected significant associations between miRNAs and cytokines for EGF (pro-epidermal growth factor), PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB/BB (platelet-derived growth factor subunit A and B), VEGF-A (vascular endothelia growth factor A), and sCD40L (soluble CD40 ligand) with sCD40L showing the most robust pattern.

Background: Inflammation and innate immune activation are associated with chronic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, despite effective treatment. Although gut microbiota alterations are linked to systemic inflammation, their relationship with HIV infection the relationships between the gut microbiome, inflammation, and HIV remains unclear.

Methods: The HIV UPBEAT Coronary Artery Disease sub-study evaluated cardiovascular disease (CVD) in people with and without HIV.

Background: Sjogren syndrome (SS) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease and its pathogenesis often involves the participation of numerous immune cells and inflammatory factors. Despite increased researches and studies recently focusing on this area, it remains to be fully elucidated. We decide to incorporate genetic insight into investigation of the causal link between various immune cells, inflammatory factors and pathogenesis of Sjogren syndrome (SS).

Objective: To investigate the significance of VISTA in bronchial asthma and its impact on the disease.

Methods: Human peripheral blood of asthma children was gathered. The expression concentrations of VISTA, IL-4, IL-6, CD25, CD40L, and PD-L2 in peripheral blood plasma were detected by ELISA.
