Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) plans are widely used for health monitoring purposes. We propose a systematic approach to design multiple-objective LQAS plans that meet user-specified type 1 and 2 error rates and targets for selected diagnostic accuracy metrics. These metrics may include sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value in high or low anticipated prevalence rate populations. We use Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) tools to implement our design methodology. Our approach is flexible in that it can directly generate classic LQAS plans that control error rates only and find optimal LQAS plans that meet multiple objectives in terms of diagnostic metrics. We give examples, compare results with the classic LQAS and provide an application using a malaria outcome indicator survey in Mozambique.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study using the lot quality assurance sampling (LQAS) methodology in 8 districts, stratifying each district into five supervision areas (SAs). We randomly sampled 19 villages from each SA using probability proportional to size (PPS).

This study uses data from the lot quality assurance sampling (LQAS) survey to examine the prevalence, patterns, and determinants of breastfeeding cessation in Uganda.
Methods: This study was a secondary analysis of data collected by the cross-sectional LQAS surveys in 2021 and 2022 covering 77 districts in Uganda.

Introduction: to support polio eradication activities in Nigeria, in 2012 the National Polio Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) created the Management Support Teams (MST) to address gaps in the quality of supervision of polio vaccination teams. The National Stop Transmission of Polio (NSTOP) Program supported the polio eradication activities by deploying trained supervisors as part of the MST for polio and non-polio immunization campaigns.
Methods: trained MST members were deployed approximately 4 days before the start of the campaign to participate in pre-implementation activities and supervise vaccination teams during campaigns.
