ObjectiveThis work examined performance costs for a spatial integration task when two sources of information were presented at increasing eccentricities with an augmented-reality (AR) head-mounted display (HMD).BackgroundSeveral studies have noted that different types of tasks have varying costs associated with the spatial proximity of information that requires mental integration. Additionally, prior work has found a relatively negligible role of head movements associated with performance costs.

Background: Conventional top-down health interventions often exclude adolescents and community stakeholders from service design and implementation, resulting in low uptake and a mismatch with young people's needs. The CAFFP-PAC initiative in Northern Uganda sought to explore how a community-led, adolescent-centered inception process could support integration of adolescent-friendly family planning and post-abortion care into primary healthcare services.

Methods: A participatory qualitative design was employed during an inception meeting in Lira City on April 1, 2025, guided by principles of community-based participatory research and citizen science.

Advances in cellulosic natural fibre-reinforced polymer composites: Properties, additive manufacturing and hybridisation - A review.

Int J Biol Macromol

September 2025

Natural Composites Research Group Lab, Department of Materials and Production Engineering, The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS), King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Bangkok, Thailand.

This review critically examines the rapidly advancing field of cellulosic natural fibre-reinforced polymer (NFRP) composites, with a particular emphasis on material innovation aligned with sustainability and environmental responsibility. The review presents a systematic analysis of recent literature evaluating the mechanical, thermal, water absorption, wear, and machining characteristics of NFRP composites, as well as the influence of advanced processing approaches such as additive manufacturing. Special attention is given to the structure-property relationships and hybridisation strategies employed to address limitations such as relatively lower mechanical performance and durability compared to synthetic fibre composites.

Forest fires have a significant impact on forest fauna, killing not only mammals and birds, but also less noticeable representatives of forest fauna - insects. Existing research have mainly studied the effects on vertebrate taxa, but the data on the effects of fires on the number of insects living in forests is currently insufficient to cover all the groups. The research presented in this paper examines the immediate impact of forest fires on the number of adults in mosquito populations (Culicidae) in burned areas of the boreal forest.

Introduction: This study analyzed the age and sex distribution of COVID-19 patients during the initial three COVID-19 waves in Puducherry, India, from August 2020 to March 2022, to understand the distribution of infection across different demographic groups.

Methods: The disease surveillance program conducted at ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre processed 79,705 Throat Swab/Nasal Swab (TSNS) samples received from various institutions in Puducherry through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP). Real-time reverse-transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) was performed following approved protocols.
