The mammalian cell nucleus contains numerous discrete suborganelles named nuclear bodies. While recruitment of specific genomic regions into these large ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes critically contributes to higher-order functional chromatin organization, such regions remain ill-defined. We have developed the high-salt-recovered sequences-sequencing (HRS-seq) method, a straightforward genome-wide approach whereby we isolated and sequenced genomic regions associated with large high-salt insoluble RNP complexes. By using mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs), we showed that these regions essentially correspond to the most highly expressed genes, and to -regulatory sequences like super-enhancers, that belong to the active A chromosomal compartment. They include both cell-type-specific genes, such as pluripotency genes in ESCs, and housekeeping genes associated with nuclear bodies, such as histone and snRNA genes that are central components of Histone Locus Bodies and Cajal bodies. We conclude that HRSs are associated with the active chromosomal compartment and with large RNP complexes including nuclear bodies. Association of such chromosomal regions with nuclear bodies is in agreement with the recently proposed phase separation model for transcription control and might thus play a central role in organizing the active chromosomal compartment in mammals.

Fruit and fruit-based products are a valuable source of essential nutrients, critical for food security, and drive economic productivity with minimal inputs. The significant rise in global demand for high-quality imported fruit and fruit-based products reflects a shift in consumer awareness and interest in the products origin and potential health-promoting bioactive compounds. Analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, inductively coupled plasma techniques, isotope-ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS), near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, visible near infrared (VIS-NIR) spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging (HSI), mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, terahertz spectroscopy, dielectric spectroscopy, electronic nose (e-nose), and electronic tongue (e-tongue) coupled with supervised and unsupervised chemometrics can be employed for traceability, authentication, and bioactive profiling of fruit and fruit-based products.

Introduction: Dysfunction of the glymphatic system is thought to lead to build up of toxic proteins including β-amyloid and α-synuclein, and thus may be involved in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). The Diffusion Tensor Image Analysis Along the Perivascular Space (DTI-ALPS) index has been proposed as a marker of glymphatic function.
Aims: To investigate DTI-ALPS in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia, and determine its relationship with cognitive decline, and biomarkers of neurodegeneration.
Diverse epigenetic regulatory mechanisms ensure and regulate cellular diversity. Among others, the histone 3 lysine 9 me3 (H3K9me3) post translational modification participates in silencing lineage-inappropriate genes. H3K9me3 restricts access of transcription factors and other regulatory proteins to cell-fate controlled genes.

Study on the mechanism of Fangxia Dihuang Formula(FXDH) in treating breast cancer complicated with depression through the regulation of M1/M2 microglial polarization via the PERK/eIF2α axis. In addition to control group and 4T1 group, a mouse model of breast cancer complicated with depression was established using 4T1 cells combined with corticosterone. The mice were divided into model group, PERK/eIF2α signaling axis agonist(CCT020312, 2 mg·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) group, CCT020312(2 mg·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) + FXDH(13.

In 2016, an outbreak of Rattus norvegicus polyomavirus 2 (RatPyV2) infection was reported in a colony of X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (XSCID) rats in the United States. While RatPyV2 infection persists asymptomatically in immunocompetent rats, immunodeficient XSCID rats develop variable respiratory symptoms, emaciation, impaired breeding performance, and systemic deteriorating condition. RatPyV2 is an epitheliotropic virus targeting epithelial cells of the salivary glands, Harderian glands, extraorbital lacrimal glands, respiratory system, and reproductive or accessory reproductive organs.
