As emerging technologies reshape both the body and how we represent it, anatomical education stands at a threshold. Virtual dissection tools, AI-generated images, and immersive platforms are redefining how students learn anatomy, while real-world bodies are becoming hybridized through implants, neural interfaces, and bioengineered components. This Viewpoint explores what it means to teach human anatomy when the body is no longer entirely natural, and the image is no longer entirely real.

Background: In the treatment of coronary calcification by rotational atherectomy (ROTA), guidewire bias is often considered to lead to procedure-associated coronary dissections or perforations. However, the actual meaning of guidewire bias is unclear, though it usually refers to the cross-sectional location of the intravascular imaging (IVI) catheter in the coronary artery. This study tentatively explores the quantitative criteria in optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging of guidewire bias, which may cause ROTA-induced coronary dissection.

Colorectal polyps remain a significant health concern because they can develop into cancer. Therefore, accurate assessment and diagnosis of polyps, along with appropriate treatment decisions, are crucial in preventing complications or malignant transformation. Some polyps are classified as complex polyps, which means they fail to elevate due to a scar from a previously removed polyp or can be determined by a scoring system like the size/morphology/site/access score, which considers factors like site, morphology, size, and access.

Background: Covered stent implantation has become a common approach for management of iliofemoral vascular complications in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), but the long-term outcomes associated with this approach are unknown. The aims of the study were 1) to evaluate the incidence and indication for covered stent placement in patients undergoing TAVR, 2) to assess long-term clinical outcomes after covered stent placement, and 3) to describe the performance of covered stents over long-term follow-up as assessed by Doppler ultrasonography.
Methods: Retrospective cohort study of patients undergoing iliofemoral covered stent implantation at the time of TAVR in a single high-volume UK center.

Interactions with microorganisms across the parasite-mutualist continuum shape the biology of insects at all levels - from individual traits to populations to communities. However, the understanding of pathogens infecting non-model insect species in natural ecosystems, or their interactions with other insect-associated microorganisms, is fragmentary. Here, we tested a conceptually novel approach - the simultaneous sequencing of insect, fungal, and bacterial marker gene amplicons - as a means of dissecting interactions among entomopathogenic fungi in the genus Entomophthora and their dipteran hosts in South Greenland.
