Advancements in materials design and manufacturing have allowed for the production of ordered and disordered metamaterials with diverse properties. Hyperuniform two-phase heterogeneous materials, which anomalously suppress density fluctuations on large length scales compared to typical disordered systems, and network materials are two classes of metamaterials that have desirable physical properties. Recent focus has been placed on the design of disordered hyperuniform network metamaterials that inherit the desirable properties of both of these metamaterial classes.

The determination of the live body weight of camels (required for their successful breeding) is a rather difficult task due to the problems with handling and restraining these animals. Therefore, the main aim of this study was to predict the ABW of eight indigenous camel () breeds of Pakistan (Bravhi, Kachi, Kharani, Kohi, Lassi, Makrani, Pishin, and Rodbari). Selected productive (hair production, milk yield per lactation, and lactation length) and reproductive (age of puberty, age at first breeding, gestation period, dry period, and calving interval) traits served as the predictors.

We prove that the reconstruction of a certain type of length spaces from their travel time data on a closed subset is Lipschitz stable. The travel time data is the set of distance functions from the entire space, measured on the chosen closed subset. The case of a Riemannian manifold with boundary with the boundary as the measurement set appears is a classical geometric inverse problem arising from Gel'fand's inverse boundary spectral problem.

Modeling lamprey distribution using flow, geomorphology, and elevation in a terminal lake system.

Trans Am Fish Soc

May 2025

U.S. Geological Survey, Oregon Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, Corvallis, Oregon 97331, USA.

Objective: Lampreys are an ecologically important group of fishes; however, several species are imperiled and lack key distribution and habitat data, particularly those in arid and semi-arid aquatic ecosystems. The terminal Goose Lake Basin, U.S.

Rodent chronic variable stress procedures: A disjunction between stress entity and impact on behaviour.

J Neuroendocrinol

September 2025

Chronic variable stress (CVS) procedures are widely used to model depression in laboratory mice and rats. In order to explore how study design might impact experimental outcomes, we systematically documented characteristics of study design in a series of published rodent CVS studies and, in a subset of studies, measured effect sizes in the behavioural tests used to evaluate the effects of CVS. We hypothesised that CVS procedures that were longer or involved more stressors would be associated with larger effect sizes in five commonly used behavioural tests: the sucrose preference test (SPT), the tail suspension test (TST), the forced swim test (FST), the open field test (OFT) and the elevated plus maze (EPM).
