Article Abstract

Identification of nonfermenting Gram-negative bacteria (NFGNB) of cystic fibrosis patients is hard and misidentification could affect clinical outcome. This study aimed to propose a scheme using polymerase chain reaction to identify NFGNB. This scheme leads to reliable identification within 3 days in an economically viable manner when compared to other methods.

Myroides odoratimimus, a non-fermentative Gram-negative bacillus, has increasingly been recognized as a cause of opportunistic healthcare-associated infections, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs). Its intrinsic resistance to multiple antibiotic classes, including carbapenems, aminoglycosides, and polymyxins, presents serious therapeutic challenges. Here, we report a clonal outbreak of urinary M.

Background: Prompt identification and management of donor-derived infections post-kidney transplantation are critical. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) in detecting pathogens within donor organ preservation fluids and recipient wound drainage fluids, with a comparison made against conventional culture methods.

Methods: This study involved 141 kidney transplant patients (May 1st, 2020 to Jan 31st, 2024).

Introduction  () is a multidrug-resistant, non-fermenting Gram-negative bacillus increasingly associated with nosocomial infections, particularly in immunocompromised and critically ill patients. Its intrinsic resistance to multiple antibiotics limits treatment options and contributes to adverse clinical outcomes. Aim and objective The study aimed to investigate the clinical and microbiological characteristics of infections among ICU/NICU patients and to explore potential environmental sources through hospital-based surveillance.

: Bloodstream infections (BSIs) caused by multidrug-resistant non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli, particularly and , represent a growing public health concern, especially in tertiary care settings. This study aimed to describe the epidemiological and antimicrobial resistance trends of and isolated from blood cultures over an eight-year period (2017-2024) at a tertiary infectious disease hospital in Bucharest, Romania, especially in the context of the disruption caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. : A retrospective study was conducted on 43,951 blood cultures processed at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

Dataset of 111 metagenome-assembled genomes from cattle manure, soil and manured soil samples.

Data Brief

Institute of Soil Biology and Biogeochemistry, Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Na Sádkách 7, České Budějovice, 370 05, Czech Republic.

This data report presents 111 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) reconstructed from manure, soil and manured soil samples from microcosms after enriching for non-fermenting Gram-negative bacteria (NFGNB). Two independent microcosm experiments were conducted to investigate the spread of NFGNB from the fresh manure of dairy cows under antibiotic prophylaxis to the pasture soil of two organic farms. After sampling the microcosms on days 2, 14 and 28, the manure and soil samples were plated in duplicate on CHROMagar Acinetobacter medium for NFGNB enrichment and incubated at 28°C for 24 h.
