Occupational therapists are constantly searching for engaging, high-technology interactive tasks that provide immediate feedback to evaluate and train clients with visual scanning deficits. This study examined the relationship between two tools: the VISION COACH™ interactive light board and the Functional Object Detection (FOD) Advanced driving simulator scenario. Fifty-four healthy drivers, ages 21-66 yr, were divided into three age groups. Participants performed braking response and visual target (E) detection tasks of the FOD Advanced driving scenario, followed by two sets of three trials using the VISION COACH Full Field 60 task. Results showed no significant effect of age on FOD Advanced performance but a significant effect of age on VISION COACH performance. Correlations showed that participants' performance on both braking and E detection tasks were significantly positively correlated with performance on the VISION COACH (.37 < r < .40, p < .01). These tools provide new options for therapists.

The fiber orientation distribution (FOD) function is an advanced model for high angular resolution diffusion MRI, capable of representing complex crossing or fanning fiber geometries. However, the intricate mathematical structures of FOD functions pose significant challenges for data processing and analysis. Current frameworks often fail to consider fiber bundle rotation information among FOD peaks, leading to improper data processing, such as inaccurate FOD interpolation and, consequently, anatomically incorrect fiber tracking.

Fiber orientation distributions (FODs) are widely used in connectome analysis based on diffusion MRI. Spherical harmonics (SPHARMs) are often used for the efficient representation of FODs; however, SPHARMs over the 3-D image volume are in essence four-dimensional. This makes it highly memory-consuming for applying advanced deep learning methods, such as the transformer and diffusion model, to FODs represented by high order SPHARMs.

Objective: To describe the motivation for undertaking research to validate the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) for use among children 2-14 years of age, and to summarize results from the GDQS child validation research initiative presented in this Supplemental Issue.
Background: To advance an agenda to address diet quality among children globally requires the availability of diet quality metrics that meet the following 5 criteria: (1) cross-country relevance; (2) cross-country validity; (3) compatibility with the use of low-cost data collection methods; (4) straightforward tabulation methods; and (5) provides a whole-of-diet measure. No existing metric meets all 5 criteria.

Ferrous oxalate dihydrate (α-FOD) was synthesized from Ecuadorian black sands for phenol removal from aqueous solutions.
