Carbon monoxide (CO), a major air pollutant from vehicle emissions, industrial combustion, and indoor fuel use, poses significant environmental and public health risks. Although acute carbon monoxide poisoning (COP) is well-documented, the underlying mechanisms driving long-term pulmonary complications following CO exposure remain poorly understood. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the standard treatment for COP, primarily for its ability to eliminate carboxyhemoglobin and reduce oxidative stress.

A 5-month-old spayed female Shiba Inu dog was presented because of acute vomiting, diarrhea, and weakness. The dog had undergone elective ovariohysterectomy, received nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, and undergone an intestinal biopsy 1 d before presentation. On physical examination, the dog was in shock and had abdominal pain.

Introduction And Importance: Infections of inferior vena cava (IVC) filters are rare. The authors present a case of IVC filter infection following concurrent emphysematous urinary tract infections that was finally treated with prolonged suppressive antibiotic therapy (PSAT).
Case Presentation: A 68-year-old man with pemphigoid and type 2 diabetes mellitus, who had undergone IVC filter placement, was transferred with decreased consciousness, respiratory failure, and hypotension.
