Newborn screening (NBS) for Fabry disease (FD) is an effective way to identify individuals with FD before the onset of symptoms, enabling early therapeutic treatment. The classic form of FD typically begins in early childhood or later, but the late-onset form often develops in adulthood. However, FD-NBS identifies positive cases regardless of the expected timing of symptom onset.

Many physician-associated barriers to GOC discussions have been identified, but there is little understanding of the lived experiences of patients and their nominated health care spokespersons (NHSs) who have participated in the discussion.
Objectives: We aimed to describe the lived experience of participants of GOC discussions conducted during acute inpatient care and identify the features of well-conducted GOC discussions.

Others are using artificial intelligence in the form of online search engines or chatbots such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. Artificial intelligence chatbot assistants have been growing in popularity; however, clinicians may be hesitant to use them because of concerns about accuracy.
