Whether the spongiotic reaction caused by the interaction of keratinocytes, T-lymphocytes, inflammatory dendritic epidermal cells (IDECs), and Langerhans cells (LCs) observed in atopic dermatitis (AD) represents a common feature of spongiosis in various skin diseases remains unclear. We analyzed the characteristics of spongiosis in AD compared with those in other eczematous dermatitis and inflammatory skin diseases by using immunohistochemical methods. Infiltration of IDECs (CD11c+ cells and/or CD206+ cells) and T-lymphocytes, accompanied by degenerated keratinocytes and aggregated LCs (CD207+ cells), was frequently observed as a common feature of spongiosis in multiple conditions.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) levels and multiparametric ultrasonography (US) findings combining B-mode US, shear wave elastography (SWE), and superb microvascular imaging (SMI) in patients with invasive breast cancer, and to explore the potential of sonographic imaging modalities in predicting the tumor immune microenvironment.
Methods: This retrospective study included 148 patients diagnosed with invasive breast carcinoma between September 2021 and December 2024. Patient age, medical history, and immunohistopathological characteristics (grade, hormone positivity, Ki-67 ratio, subtype) of the lesions were recorded.

A seven-year-old spayed female dog presented with multiple, small oval-shaped masses on the abdominal skin. The excised tissue was submitted for histopathological evaluation. Routine histology revealed basaloid nodules with stippled chromatin and pleomorphic nuclei.

Clear cell papillary renal cell carcinoma (CCPRCC) was included as a separate entity in the World Health Organisation classification of renal tumours in 2016. Immuno-histopathological and genetic characteristics are much known, but still, clinical features and long-term follow-up require more consolidated data. We report three cases of CCPRCC, detected in different clinical settings.

Background/aim: The membrane-bound protein lymphocyte antigen 6 family member D (LY6D), a marker of early B cell lineage is reportedly expressed in several human malignancies and has been implicated in cancer stemness. However, its expression and role in cancer stemness remain largely unexplored in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The aim of this study was to clarify the role of LY6D in PDAC.
