To make use of the sparsity property of broadband multipath wireless communication channels, we mathematically propose an l p -norm-constrained proportionate normalized least-mean-square (LP-PNLMS) sparse channel estimation algorithm. A general l p -norm is weighted by the gain matrix and is incorporated into the cost function of the proportionate normalized least-mean-square (PNLMS) algorithm. This integration is equivalent to adding a zero attractor to the iterations, by which the convergence speed and steady-state performance of the inactive taps are significantly improved. Our simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the estimation performance of the PNLMS-based algorithm for sparse channel estimation applications.

Background: We evaluated the surgical outcomes of modified right ventricle (RV) overhaul (mRVOh), implemented as part of comprehensive management for pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum (PA-IVS).
Methods And Results: Twenty-five mRVOh procedures were performed in 23 patients with PA-IVS without RV-dependent coronary circulation. The procedure involved RV sinus myectomy, infundibular muscle resection, and tricuspid valve (TV) and pulmonary valve (PV) repair.

Objective: To assess the current status and identify factors influencing the medication literacy level of community residents, providing a scientific basis to enhance medication literacy and effectively promote the safe use of medications.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 2,008 community residents in Shenzhen, employing economic stratification and proportionate sampling methods. The analysis utilized various statistical methodologies, including T-tests, F-tests, multiple linear stepwise regression, and structural equation modeling to assess the current medication literacy status and the factors influencing it.

Hypothyroidism as a sequel to Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a very common thyroid illness. The conventional treatment is replacement of thyroid hormone to compensate insufficient production from the gland. The clinical features manifested is of widely variable intensity and may not be proportionate always to the blood levels of hormones.

Background: The Ross procedure offers several advantages for adolescents requiring aortic valve replacement, but progressive pulmonary autograft dilation is a well-described risk. To provide novel insight into the pre-Ross histology in an adolescent with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV)-associated aortopathy, we describe the extracellular architecture of the pulmonary artery (PA) compared to the native ascending aorta.
Methods: A 15-year-old with BAV, symptomatic moderate aortic insufficiency and aortic stenosis, and ascending aortic dilation underwent Ross.
