Introduction: Fluoroless mapping and ablation using a Pentaspline pulsed field ablation catheter has many advantages. This can be achieved using a "tripolar configuration," which enables high-quality electroanatomical maps, improves the ability to localize electrograms (EGMs), and minimizes the use of additional mapping catheters compared to the standard bipolar configuration. We aimed to evaluate the benefits of using a tripolar configuration in fluoroless atrial fibrillation ablation compared to the standard bipolar configuration.

The aim of the study was to validate a new method for semiautomatic subtraction of [Tc]Tc-sestamibi and [Tc]NaTcO SPECT 3-dimensional datasets using principal component analysis (PCA) against the results of parathyroid surgery and to compare its performance with an interactive method for visual comparison of images. We also sought to identify factors that affect the accuracy of lesion detection using the two methods. Scintigraphic data from [Tc]Tc-sestamibi and [Tc]NaTcO SPECT were analyzed using semiautomatic subtraction of the 2 registered datasets based on PCA applied to the region of interest including the thyroid and an interactive method for visual comparison of the 2 image datasets.

Background: Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is a special form of ectopic pregnancy that lacks specific clinical manifestations. Artificially induced abortion may lead to severe complications such as massive bleeding and even uterine rupture, posing a threat to the safety of pregnant women. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has potential advantages in evaluating CSP.

Optogenetic tools and their applications for therapeutic intervention in end-stage inherited retinal diseases.

Department of Ophthalmology, Medical Faculty, University Hospital Bonn, Ernst-Abbe-Str. 2, 53127, Bonn, Germany. Electronic address:

Retinal degenerative diseases pose significant therapeutic challenges; however, optogenetic vision restoration offers a promising strategy that is independent of mutations and disease progression. Optogenetic tools consisting of photosensitive membrane proteins can be ectopically expressed in retinal cells, effectively converting them into artificial photoreceptors. This review outlines the development and application of optogenetic tools to restore light sensitivity in degenerated retinas.

An 82-year-old female was referred to our hospital due to repeated vomiting. CT showed a heterogeneously enhanced mass, 50 mm in size, with cavitation in the lower abdomen. Ultrasound revealed a well-circumscribed polygonal mass with internal high echoes.
