In behavioral, biomedical, and psychological studies, structural equation models (SEMs) have been widely used for assessing relationships between latent variables. Regression-type structural models based on parametric functions are often used for such purposes. In many applications, however, parametric SEMs are not adequate to capture subtle patterns in the functions over the entire range of the predictor variable. A different but equally important limitation of traditional parametric SEMs is that they are not designed to handle mixed data types-continuous, count, ordered, and unordered categorical. This paper develops a generalized semiparametric SEM that is able to handle mixed data types and to simultaneously model different functional relationships among latent variables. A structural equation of the proposed SEM is formulated using a series of unspecified smooth functions. The Bayesian P-splines approach and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods are developed to estimate the smooth functions and the unknown parameters. Moreover, we examine the relative benefits of semiparametric modeling over parametric modeling using a Bayesian model-comparison statistic, called the complete deviance information criterion (DIC). The performance of the developed methodology is evaluated using a simulation study. To illustrate the method, we used a data set derived from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth.

Background: Changes in consumer food choices have been associated with transformation in the food environment. Despite the direct impact of consumers' food choices on their diet and health outcomes, there is a lack of comprehensive evidence regarding how various factors within the food environment impact these choices.
Methods: This study uses the Theory of Planned Behavior to examine how socio-psychological factors in the food environment influence consumers' healthy food choices.

The effects of pressure on the crystal structure of scheelite-type perrhenates were studied using synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and density-functional theory. At ambient conditions, the studied materials AgReO, KReO, and RbReO, exhibit a tetragonal scheelite-type crystal structure described by space group 4/. Under compression, a transition from scheelite-to-M'-fergusonite (space group 2/) was observed at 1.

Background: Encounters with threats can lead to a motivation to justify the existing social system, which can be expressed through endorsement of system-justifying beliefs.
Objective: The aim of the study was to examine how difierent types of threats contribute to endorsement of system-justifying beliefs in the economic domain.
Design: We tested a theoretical model ( = 577) with internal threats (fear of death), economic threats (threats of poverty and socio-economic inequality), and subjective threat perception (belief in a dangerous and competitive world) as predictors; system-justifying beliefs (economic system justification, opposition to equality, dominance, and antiegalitarianism) served as dependent variables, and sociodemographic characteristics were included as control variables.

To achieve the sustainable development goals and in response to the green development policies, many enterprises have actively incorporated corporate social responsibility (CSR) into their strategic plans in order to enhance environmental sustainability. This study explores the cognitive and emotional pathways through which perceived environmental CSR (PECSR) influences pro-environmental behavior (PEB) among employees in China's marine enterprises, based on the Cognitive-Affective Personality System theory. The research was conducted through data collection and verified through the structural equation model.
