A fully automated and computationally efficient Pearson's correlation change classification (APC3) approach is proposed and shown to have overall comparable performance with both an average accuracy and an average AUC of 0.89 ± 0.08 but is 3.9 to 7 times faster, easier to use and have low outlier susceptibility in contrast to other dimensional reduction and classification combinations using only the total ion chromatogram (TIC) intensities of GC/MS data. The use of only the TIC permits the possible application of APC3 to other metabonomic data such as LC/MS TICs or NMR spectra. A RapidMiner implementation is available for download at http://padel.nus.edu.sg/software/padelapc3.

Objective: This study investigated the relationship of maternal serum uric acid, cystatin C (CysC), and coagulation indices [international normalized ratio (INR) and fibrinogen (FIB)] during pregnancy with clinical features and prognosis of early-onset pre-eclampsia.
Methods: Patients with pre-eclampsia (n = 133) were retrospectively selected, with clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB levels collected. The relationship between clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB was analyzed by Pearson's and Spearman's analyses.

Introduction: Intrinsic foot muscles and the plantar fascia are crucial for foot health, which diminishes with age and conditions such as chronic plantar fasciitis (PF). Ultrasound (US) is an accessible and cost-effective method for evaluating these structures. This study aims to assess the repeatability, reliability, and validity of plantar fascia thickness and flexor digitorum brevis (FDB) muscle measurements using US compared with MRI in individuals with and without PF.

High radon levels in the environment can lead to adverse biological effects such as DNA damage, thereby increasing cancer risk, especially lung cancer. This study focused on Tande-Tande sub-village in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Indonesia, an area known for naturally high indoor radon concentrations, where inhabitants have been chronically exposed to radon throughout their lives. Blood samples from 38 subjects in Tande-Tande sub-village and the control area, Topoyo village, were examined.

Objective: This study validates the previously tested Screening for Poverty And Related social determinants to improve Knowledge of and access to resources ('SPARK Tool') against comparison questions from well-established national surveys (Post Survey Questionnaire (PSQ)) to inform the development of a standardised tool to collect patients' demographic and social needs data in healthcare.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
Setting: Pan-Canadian study of participants from four Canadian provinces (SK, MB, ON and NL).
