: The spread of ESBL-producing (ESBL-PE) strains in food poses a potential risk to human health. The aim of the study was to determine the occurrence of ESBL-PE and to investigate their distribution on foods. A total of 1000 food samples, including both raw and ready-to-eat products, was analyzed for the presence of ESBL-producing using chromogenic selective agar.

Background: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) impose significant challenges among patients infected with multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli (E. coli). The emergence of the extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) strains complicates the treatment and exacerbates life-threatening infections.

Objectives: Bloodstream infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the most common pathogens causing bacteraemia among Canadian patients and to evaluate their antimicrobial susceptibility profiles.
Methods: Annually from 2007 to 2023, bloodstream isolates from patients admitted to or evaluated at Canadian hospitals were collected by sentinel laboratories (CANWARD surveillance study).

Background And Objective: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a leading global public health concern as it resulted in more difficult-to-treat infections and fatalities. In the Philippines, drug-resistant , including multidrug-resistant (MDR), extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing, carbapenemase-producing carbapenem-resistant (CP-CR) , have been isolated from common food animals, increasing the risk of cross-contamination between humans, animals, and the environment. However, there is a lack of data on the distribution of in chicken meat in public wet markets.

Healthcare-Associated Infection Control Department, Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical University, Jining, China.
Background: The pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) significantly impacted healthcare systems worldwide, especially improving awareness of infection prevention and control in medical institutions. However, it remains unclear to what extent COVID-19 influenced the occurrence of bloodstream infection (BSI). This study aimed to analyze the distribution and antibiotic resistance patterns of pathogens responsible for BSI before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in a tertiary hospital.
