Rationale: Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) are used to identify genetic variants for association with schizophrenia (SCZ) risk; however, each GWAS can only reveal a small fraction of this association.
Objectives: This study systematically analyzed multiple GWAS data sets to identify gene subnetwork and pathways associated with SCZ.
Methods: We identified gene subnetwork using dmGWAS program by combining SCZ GWASs and a human interaction network, performed gene-set analysis to test the association of gene subnetwork with clinical symptom scores and disease state, meanwhile, conducted spatiotemporal and tissue-specific expression patterns and cell-type-specific analysis of genes in the subnetwork.
This manuscript explores the myriad ethical controversies associated with declaration of brain death/death by neurologic criteria (BD/DNC) during pregnancy raised by the case of Ms. Adriana Smith, a 30-year-old Georgia nurse, who came to international attention in May 2025. We will discuss: (1) the factors that may have impacted the decision not to perform neuroimaging when she first presented to medical attention; (2) the significance of identifying and deferring performance of futile interventions to decrease intracranial pressure relative to BD/DNC declaration; (3) the medical, ethical and legal complexities associated with BD/DNC declaration and continuation of maternal organ support in pregnancy; (4) the impact of continuing maternal organ support after BD/DNC declaration on the fetus, the family, Ms.

Unlabelled: Leptomeningeal metastasis (LM) is a severe complication of solid malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, characterized by poor prognosis and diagnostic challenges. This study assesses whether curvilinear peri-brainstem hyperintense signals on MRI are a characteristic feature of LM in lung adenocarcinoma patients.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed data from multiple centers, encompassing lung adenocarcinoma patients with peri-brainstem curvilinear hyperintense signals on MRI between January 2016 and March 2022.

Introduction: Bevacizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and is widely used in oncology for its anti-angiogenic properties. However, VEGF inhibition may result in significant nephrotoxicity, including thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). While systemic TMA is well-described, isolated renal-limited TMA remains under recognised.

Background: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a life-threatening hematologic emergency caused by ADAMTS13 deficiency, leading to microvascular thrombosis, haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia, and end-organ damage. Neurological symptoms occur in up to 90% of cases and are frequently misdiagnosed as stroke. Prompt recognition and treatment reduce the mortality rate from over 90% to 10-20%.
