D-glu is a key component of peptidoglycan (PG) and is essential for growth in most bacteria. To assess constraints on PG evolution and bacterial requirements for D-glu, we sought to artificially evolve PG biosynthesis, leading to either replacement of D-glu in the PG peptide or alternative pathways to D-glu incorporation. We previously found that suppression of D-glu auxotrophy in a mutant of grown on lysogeny broth salts (LBS) medium was rare but could be accomplished by mutation of , with restoration of wild-type PG structure.

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, especially large language models (LLMs), have permeated human work around the globe, but how effective is workers' usage and application of AI-generated content across language settings? This research examines the quality of (1) AI-generated business recommendations in English, Arabic, and Chinese and (2) business emails written by human participants in those languages. In Study 1, trained evaluators rated the quality of AI-generated content. Study 2 is a randomized experiment in which 480 human participants (160 in each language setting) wrote emails to address business issues, with or without the help of AI-generated content.

Fiber photometry is a neuroscience technique that can continuously monitor in vivo fluorescence to assess population neural activity or neuropeptide/transmitter release in freely behaving animals. Despite the widespread adoption of this technique, methods to statistically analyze data in an unbiased, objective, and easily adopted manner are lacking. Various pipelines for data analysis exist, but they are often system specific, are only for preprocessing data, and/or lack usability.

We aimed to address this gap. This cohort study included atrial fibrillation patients prescribed flecainide between 2017-2021.
