Objective: The objective of our study was to assess the incremental role of CT venography (CTV) combined with pulmonary CT angiography (CTA) in detecting venous thromboembolic disease with a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature.
Materials And Methods: MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science were searched for relevant original articles published from January 1, 1995, to December 31, 2009. A random-effects model was used to obtain the incremental value of CTV in detecting thromboembolic disease.
Results: Twenty-four studies, which included 17,373 patients, met our inclusion criteria. A meta-analysis showed that CTV increased detection rates of venous thromboembolic disease by identifying an additional 3% of cases (95% CI, 2-4%) of isolated deep venous thrombosis (DVT). A subgroup analysis of a high-risk group did not show any difference in the detection of isolated DVT.
Conclusion: The addition of CTV results in the increased detection of thromboembolic disease. CTV combined with pulmonary CTA has a promising role as a quick and efficient test for venous thromboembolism.

Background: Spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy by robotic surgery is a safe and feasible surgical technique. Currently, spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy represents an alternative to the classical distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy, in the case of benign and low-grade malignant diseases of the body or pancreas tail. The reasons for preserving the spleen are based on the reduction of postoperative complications, such as post-splenectomy infections, subphrenic abscess, portal thrombosis, pulmonary hypertension, thrombocytosis, and thromboembolism.

Background: Residual leaks are common after left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO).
Objectives: The authors aimed to systematically evaluate the prognostic implications of residual left atrial appendage (LAA) patency and peridevice leaks (PDLs) detected by cardiac computed tomography (CT) following LAAO.
Methods: The authors used traditional meta-analytical methods and a Bayesian framework to assess the probability of increased risks associated with these residual leaks.

Background: Previous results from this phase 3 trial showed that progression-free survival among participants with previously untreated (epidermal growth factor receptor)-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was significantly improved with amivantamab-lazertinib as compared with osimertinib. Results of the protocol-specified final overall survival analysis in this trial have not been reported.
Methods: We randomly assigned, in a 2:2:1 ratio, participants with previously untreated -mutated (exon 19 deletion or L858R substitution), locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC to receive amivantamab-lazertinib, osimertinib, or lazertinib.
