Background: INTERASPIRE was an observational study of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) from 88 hospitals in 14 countries across all six WHO regions. The objective was to describe the proportions of patients referred to and attending cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programmes and to compare lifestyle and risk factor target achievement according to participation in a CR programme.
Methods: Patients 18-80 years of age, with a first or recurrent coronary hospitalisation (acute coronary syndrome and/or revascularisation procedure) were identified and invited to an interview and examination, between six months and two years after the index hospitalisation.

Using precision analytics approaches with population health data helps identify localized patterns of social determinants and comorbidities, supporting the design of tailored interventions. The University of Kentucky College of Public Health (UKCPH) and UK King's Daughters (UKKD) have partnered to create a Precision Public Health Alliance (PPHA) applying precision analytics to UKKD electronic health records (EHR) as well as secondary datasets to map social, demographic, and clinical comorbidity factors onto colorectal cancer (CRC) screening data in UKKD's rural service area (the northeastern Kentucky counties of Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence and southeast Ohio county of Lawrence). In addition to UKKD and UKCPH clinicians and researchers, PPHA includes a community-based Action Team of local social services, behavioral health, and public health agencies and Cooperative Extension agents responsible for translating findings into quality improvement priorities.

Newborn screening is one of the most successful public health programs that has improved outcomes for children with conditions that can cause long-term disability or even death if not treated quickly. With the introduction of expanded newborn screening (NBS) and the use of tandem mass spectrometry, the number of core and secondary conditions recommended on the United States national NBS guideline called the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP), rapidly grew to help screen for inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) [1]. A few years after this initiation and as more newborns were screened, there were several case reports of mothers who were diagnosed with an IEM condition or vitamin deficiency that was causing their child's abnormal newborn screening results.
