Background: Cryolipolysis is an effective, well-tolerated noninvasive subcutaneous fat reduction treatment.
Objective: Assess participant satisfaction, effectiveness, and safety of a dual-applicator cryolipolysis system that can deliver simultaneous treatments.
Materials And Methods: Adult participants received treatment to the abdomen/flanks (midsection).

Background: Another approach to improve the dose conformity is to use charged particles like protons instead of the conventional X- and γ-rays. Protons exhibit a specific depth-dose distribution which allows to achieve a more targeted dose deposition and a significant sparing of healthy tissue behind the tumor. In particular, proton therapy has, therefore, become a routinely prescribed treatment for tumors located close to sensitive structures.

Pickering emulsions (PEs), where water-in-oil (w/o) droplets are stabilized by nanoparticles (NPs), offer a promising platform for biocatalysis by providing a large interfacial area crucial for efficient substrate conversion. While several lipase catalyzed reactions in PEs have been demonstrated, the exact interfacial structure is unknown. This study focuses on the interfacial network formed by NPs and lipase (CRL) at the octanol/water-interface by varying pH and NP charge.

Deciphering the multicomponent of cell membranes at the single-cell level is critical for understanding pathological mechanisms such as tumor metastasis, yet remains technically daunting due to the membrane's nanoscale thickness and ultralow molecular abundance. Here, we introduce a surface-assisted vacuum ultraviolet laser desorption-ionization mass spectrometry imaging (SAVUVDI-MSI) platform that overcomes long-standing challenges of cytoplasmic interference and insufficient sensitivity. Leveraging the nanoscale depth profiling capability of VUV-LDI, we achieve precise ablation of a single-cell membrane.

Modern surgical strategies for keratoconus aim to both stabilize disease progression and correct induced refractive errors. Effectively and simultaneously achieving both goals remains a relevant challenge. This study presents a clinical case of femtosecond laser-assisted intrastromal keratoplasty with implantation of a biosynthetic complex, demonstrating the efficacy of this surgical approach in treating keratoconus.
