Article Abstract

Background: The advent of endoscopic surgery has radically changed surgery worldwide. The concept of minimally invasive procedures has spread quickly, allowing less pain and more rapid recovery for patients. The authors have developed a device for a new surgical approach, the so-called single trocar access (SITRACC). This study report the first multicenter study of cholecystectomies performed with SITRACC.

Methods: Between December 2008 and June 2009, 81 single trocar cholecystectomies were performed in 9 Brazilian surgery centers.

Results: The average operative time was 68 minutes. In all, 10 surgeries required 1 additional trocar because of technical problems, and 3 cholecystectomies were converted to standard video laparoscopies.

Conclusion: A cholecystectomy using the SITRACC method is feasible and safe.

Background: The existing research data cannot fully prove the advantages of single-site Da Vinci robotic surgery (RSS) compared with single-site laparoscopic surgery (LESS) in the treatment of gynecological diseases.

Aims: To evaluate the effectiveness and cost of RSS and LESS in the treatment of gynecological diseases. To provide a theoretical basis for RSS to replace LESS in the treatment of gynecological diseases.

Recovery after Low-Impact Laparoscopic Hysterectomy: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

Am J Obstet Gynecol

September 2025

Department of Anesthesiology, Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, Paris, France. Electronic address:

Background: Low-impact laparoscopy (LIL), a surgical protocol using mini-laparoscopic instruments and low-and-stable pneumoperitoneal pressure, was developed as a minimally invasive approach to mitigate local and systemic effects of laparoscopy. However, its real clinical impact is still poorly documented.

Objective: To evaluate LIL impact on the postoperative recovery quality 6 hours after laparoscopic hysterectomy (henceforth 6H postsurgery) compared to conventional laparoscopy.

Novel anatomical concept and standardized technique for single-port Paraaortic lymphadenectomy in gynecological cancers.

Gynecol Oncol

September 2025

Department of Gynecologic Oncology, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Collaborative Innovation Center for Cancer Medicine, Guangzhou, China. Electronic address:

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and quality of a standardized technique for single-port laparoscopic paraaortic lymphadenectomy guided by a novel anatomical concept.

Methods: This single-center prospective study enrolled patients with gynecological cancers requiring paraaortic lymphadenectomy from February 2022 to May 2025. All patients underwent single-port laparoscopic paraaortic lymphadenectomy using a standardized technique grounded in a novel "renal vein angle" anatomical concept.
