Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Science and Technology, Meiji University 1-1-1 Higashimita, Tama-ku Kawasaki Kanagawa 214-8571 Japan

Herein, we report the synthesis and characterization of π-conjugated macrocycles, with diameters over 2.4 nanometers, composed of biphenylene and butadiyne units. Specifically, biphenylene-2,7-diyl-butadiyne-1,4-diyl (BB) macrocycles were synthesized the intermolecular Hay coupling reaction of a 2,7-diethynylbiphenylene derivative.

Reducing noble metal dependence in oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts is essential for achieving sustainable and scalable green hydrogen production. Bimetallic oxides, with their potential for high catalytic performance and reduced noble metal content, represent promising alternatives to traditional IrO-based OER catalysts. However, optimizing these materials remains challenging due to the complex interplay of elemental selection, composition, and chemical ordering.

Plant domestication may create trade-offs between growth and stress tolerance, raising concerns about yield stability in future climates. Previous studies have found limited direct evidence for such trade-offs, often focusing on weakened defenses associated with higher growth rates. Trade-offs can also occur when traits optimized for favorable conditions perform less efficiently under stress.

We developed an integrative framework to connect medical AI with Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) and Data Warehouse (DWH), aiming to enhance reproducibility, scalability, and sustainability of AI implementations in clinical practice. Operational testing at Yamaguchi University Hospital began in August 2022, using an AI system that predict culprit drugs for adverse effects. The framework addressed system challenges and was optimized for efficiency, with future efforts focused on integrating additional medical AIs for broader applications.

Frontier Management Office, Toyota Central R&D Labs. Inc., Nagakute, Japan.

This paper presents a 360°, size-adjustable microelectrode array (MEA) system for the long-term electrophysiological monitoring of cerebral organoids derived from human pluripotent stem cells. The system consists of eight independently positionable multielectrode probes, each carrying eight electrodes arranged vertically. This configuration resulted in 64 recording channels surrounding the organoid.
