The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of tablet and paste formulations of Oxfendazole and Oxyclozanide combinations against subclinical gastrointestinal nematode infections and to compare the advantages and/or disadvantages of their use. Seventy-five infected sheep were selected from an enterprise located in Kayseri in 2006. The sheep were divided into 3 equal groups as paste, tablet and control groups. Fecal samples were collected from each group before drug administration. While the paste and tablet groups were administered drugs orally, no drugs were given to the controls. Fecal samples were collected on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days after drug application and the EPG values were determined. The parasitological examination revealed that the most prevalent species was Ostertagia spp., followed by Nematodirus spp. and Trichostrongylus spp. While the mean EPG value of the control group increased up to a ratio of 7.8% at day 28, the mean EPG values of drug groups decreased to 0%. Although the unit dose of paste formulation is more expensive, it was found that it could be an alternative to tablet formulation and has some advantages such as being easier to give, effective utilizing, shorter application period, fewer complications and death risk, no application failure and requires fewer personnel.

The administration of hinokitiol, a natural bioactive compound with promising therapeutic potential, particularly against breast cancer, faces notable challenges related to its poor solubility and low bioavailability, limiting its clinical applications. The present study aimed to advance a previously developed liquid hinokitiol-loaded phytosomal formulation by incorporating it into 3D-printed oral tablets using a REGEMAT 3D Bioprinter, containing either pure drug or drug-loaded phytosomes to enhance the pharmacokinetic performance and therapeutic efficacy of this compound. The tablets were formulated using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose-based paste and subjected to comprehensive quality control tests, including weight variation, thickness, drug content, friability, and in vitro dissolution.

Vaginal drug delivery has gained significant interest due to its numerous advantages, such as good blood flow, bypassing the first-pass effect, low systemic side effects, and potential for sustained release of pharmaceuticals. Initially targeting contraception and local effects from antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral agents, recent advancements have broadened its scope. Notably, microbicide formulations showed promise against sexually transmitted diseases, offering superior protection and effective hormone therapies due to the vagina's large surface area and high permeability.

In this work, a metal-organic nickel framework (Ni-MOF) modified with a biological ligand (asparagine) (Ni-Bio-MOF) was synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Asparagine is believed to create defects on the surface of the MOF, thereby increasing its electrocatalytic activity. Then, a Diclofenac (DCF) polymer imprinted with l-methionine (PL-Met) was electrodeposited on a carbon paste electrode (CPE)/Ni-Bio-MOF and used as a new electrochemical sensor for highly selective and sensitive detection of DCF in biological and pharmaceutical samples.

3D printing technology is characterized by highly personalized, small batch production, and excellent reproducibility. These features enable it to address the limitations of traditional dose-dividing methods currently employed in medical institutions, thereby fulfilling the diverse dosing requirements of patients. In this study, we developed two individual dosing strategies for formulating 3D printing pharmaceutical formulations (3DPF) and 3D printing divided-dose tablets (3DPDT).

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) reactivation post-surgery is an important complication to watch out for in surgeries like septorhinoplasty. This case report discusses the difficulties in diagnosis and successful treatment approaches for HSV reactivation after an open septorhinoplasty, underscoring the need for increased clinical awareness. This is a case report of a 33-year-old female with no medical history and no allergies who underwent an open septorhinoplasty to correct nasal obstruction and external nasal deformity without any intraoperative complications.
