Objective: To develop a measurement of safety climate at workplace and assess its validity and reliability.
Methods: According to the theory of preventive safety culture model, a scale including 7 dimensions of 27 items was developed. 342 workers were selected from among all workers of an artificial board factory and were investigated with the developed scale. Occupational accidents were recorded during the past year. Factor analysis, association validation and inter-item consistency test were applied to assess the scale validity and reliability.
Results: After the deletion of 6 items, 21 items composed the safety climate scale, which was loaded on 7 common factors: safety competence and consciousness, safety communication, organizational environment, management support, danger judgment, safety control measure and safety training. The cumulative contribution reached to 70.50%. All item communities (common factor variance) were above 0.6 except one item was 0.595. ANOVA showed that occupational accidents were associated with the safety climate score on total, danger judgment and safety control measure dimension (P < 0.05). There existed significant correlation between the safety climate total score and dimension scores (P < 0.01), the correlation coefficients were 0.700, 0.728, 0.705, 0.703, 0.354, 0.571 and 0.485 respectively. The safety climate scale total Cronbach's alpha coefficient, half-split Spearman-Brown coefficient, theta coefficient and omega coefficient indicated that the safety climate scale had good inter-item consistency among items.
Conclusion: The measurement of safety climate at workplace is developed. It has good reliability and valid.

A new whole-body exposure facility for a randomized, double-blind, cross-over provocation study investigating possible effects of 50 Hz magnetic field exposure on sleep and markers of Alzheimer's disease has been developed and dosimetrically analyzed. The exposure facility was custom-tailored for the sleep laboratory where the study was carried out and enables magnetic flux densities of up to 30 μT with a maximum field inhomogeneity of less than ± 20%. Exposure is applied fully software-controlled and in a blinded and randomized manner.

Background: Neighborhoods resulting from rapid urbanization processes are often saturated with eateries for local communities, potentially increasing exposure to unhealthy foods and creating diabetogenic residential habitats.
Objective: We examined the association between proximity of commercial food outlets to local neighborhood residences and type 2 diabetes (T2D) cases to explore how local T2D rates vary by location and provide policy-driven metrics to monitor food outlet density as a potential control for high local T2D rates.
Methods: This cross-sectional ecological study included 11,354 patients with active T2D aged ≥20 years geocoded using approximate neighborhood residence aggregated to area-level rates and counts by subdistricts (mukims) in Penang, northern Malaysia.

Changes in global climate have contributed to increased tick and mosquito (vector) populations and subsequent vector-borne flavivirus infections in humans. This increase poses a threat to the safety of human-derived biologics such as cell and gene therapy. We conducted time-course transcriptomic and protein analyses to uncover host molecular factors driving the virulence of Zika virus (ZIKV) and Dengue virus (DENV) in relation to host defense mechanisms, as these viruses have caused recent flavivirus outbreaks.
