A 24 year old warmblood mare (case 1) and a 12 year old Holsteiner gelding (case 2) were anaesthetized for bursoscopy and phacoemulsification, respectively. Both were premedicated with intramuscular acepromazine (30 μg kg). The horses were sedated with intravenous (IV) medetomidine (7-9 μg kg to effect), before anaesthetic induction with ketamine-diazepam.

A congenital neurologic disorder affected a herd of Tabapuã cattle. Of 98 newborn calves, 12 (12%) were affected; they were sired by 3 related bulls. This frequency suggested a genetic disorder caused by an autosomal recessive gene.

- A 9-year-old male American Shorthair cat was presented with symptoms of ataxia and tetraparesis, indicating a potential brainstem disorder.
- MRI revealed a mass in the fourth ventricle causing obstructive hydrocephalus and showed characteristics of an epidermoid cyst.
- After emergency surgery to remove the mass, the cat was euthanized due to respiratory failure, marking this as the first documented case of an intracranial epidermoid cyst in cats diagnosed and treated with MRI.

Two 3-week-old goat kids from a herd of ~50 to 60 goats were examined by a veterinarian. The goats were in lateral recumbency with an inability to rise. Unilateral cranial nerve deficiencies included cervical rotation, nystagmus, ptosis, facial paralysis, and absence of palpebral reflex.
