A simple method for multi-residue analysis of pesticides by low-pressure gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LP-GC-MS-MS) has been validated in compost samples. The pesticide residues were extracted from the lyophilised samples with organic solvent by stirring. No sample clean-up was required prior to the analysis. The method was applied to determine the fate of two organochlorine pesticides (lindane and endosulfan) and two organophosphates (malathion and chlorpyrifos-methyl) during the composting process in the reactor of a pilot plant. Malathion, chlorpyrifos-methyl and lindane residues almost fully disappeared after 8 days of maturation in the reactor, while endosulfan residues were only partially degraded. Alongside this, a study of natural disappearance of the pesticides was carried out in the laboratory and a characteristic time profile was traced for each pesticide class.

Epoxiconazole (EPX) is widely applied to control various fungal diseases in crops. However, the toxicological effects of EPX on reptiles remain unknown, especially at the enantiomer level. In this study, lizards were repeatedly exposed to rac-EPX, (+)-EPX, and (-)-EPX at doses of 10 and 100 mg/kg bw for 21 days.

High levels of pesticide use are associated with intensive crop production. Pesticides are increasingly prevalent in surface and groundwater, which is a major environmental concern. Various methods have been proposed to improve the retention and/or degradation of pesticides in soils.

The fates of organophosphorus insecticides during chlorination, a widely used disinfection step in drinking water treatment, have been extensively investigated. These compounds are known to partly transform into their corresponding "oxons", which retain the same mode of action-the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-as their parent compounds, but with markedly greater potency. In contrast, although carbamate insecticides share the same mode of action, their toxicological fates during chlorination remain entirely unexplored.

Thrips are major agricultural pests globally and spinosyn insecticides like spinosad and spinetoram are commonly used for their control. However, numerous cases of resistance have emerged, often linked to mutations in the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) α6 subunit, the main molecular target of spinosyns. In this study, toxicological data for spinosad and spinetoram were obtained from a susceptible strain of Frankliniella occidentalis, as well as two field-collected resistant strains carrying the G275E resistance mutation.

Sarcoptic mange, commonly known as scabies, is a highly contagious skin condition caused by the burrowing mite Sarcoptes scabiei (Astigmata: Sarcoptinae). This parasitic disease significantly impacts livestock and human health, particularly in underserved regions. Current treatments rely on synthetic acaricides like permethrin and ivermectin, which suffer from limitations such as toxicity, resistance development, and environmental contamination.
