In this article, we present an overview of the work being carried out by the EC-funded project IS4ALL (IST-1999-14101). Specifically, we describe the methodological frame of reference, which drives the project's objective to introduce universal access principles into the design of Health Telematics applications and services. Health Telematics is chosen due to some distinctive characteristics, such as the variety of end users involved, the changing healthcare contexts of use and the penetration of new computer-mediated activities, which re-shape the way in which healthcare practices are structured and organized.

Telemedicine (TM) as a means of remote patient-physician interaction is gaining popularity in nearly every field, and (respiratory) sleep medicine is no exception. Because obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a chronic condition, and requires a continuous treatment and monitoring of therapy success, telematic communications could be useful to establish diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. This Statement summarises the evidence and efficacy of TM options in OSA.

: (AM), commonly known as soursop or guanabana, has long been used in traditional medicine for its purported anticancer properties. However, scientific studies evaluating its potential enhancing or additive effects with conventional antineoplastic drugs (ADs) remain limited. This study aimed to assess the cytotoxic effects of an aqueous AM infusion alone and in combination with standard ADs in cancer cell lines, while also evaluating its safety in healthy cells.
