We compared the outcome of the self-expanding Radius stent and the balloon-expandable Multilink stent serially by angiography and intravascular ultrasound. Successful stent deployment was achieved in 66 lesions of 56 stable angina patients (34 lesions with Radius stents and 32 lesions with Multilink stents). At follow-up, there were no significant differences in minimal lumen diameter or percent diameter stenosis between the groups, nor in restenosis rates, although the Radius stent group rate was slightly lower (23.5% vs. 31.3%). In the Radius stent group, stent cross-sectional area (CSA) increased gradually after implantation until the 6-month follow-up (8.37 +/- 1.83 to 10.16 +/- 2.59 mm(2); n = 15), giving a larger CSA (P = 0.03) than the Multilink stent group, which decreased (9.00 +/- 2.05 to 8.27 +/- 2.15 mm(2); n = 17). The lumen CSA was also slightly larger (6.82 +/- 3.06 vs. 5.84 +/- 1.85 mm(2); P = 0.29) in the Radius stent group. These findings indicated that the Radius stent enlarged progressively after implantation, which might be useful for prevention of restenosis.

Background And Objectives: Non-invasive pre-procedural prediction of post-PCI vessel morphology and CT angiography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) can inform coronary revascularisation planning. However, the capabilities of different CT-based virtual coronary revascularisation (VCR) techniques need further investigation.
Methods: This study compared two CT-based VCR techniques: a virtual coronary intervention (VCI) method and a radius correction (RC) method.

This study investigates the fabrication of a small-diameter bilayer vascular graft, which is an inner layer fabricated from melt-electrowriting (MEW) thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) scaffold and an outer co-electrospun layer made of heparinized polycaprolactone (PCL)/polyurethane (PU)/gelatin, aimed at mimicking the extracellular matrix (ECM). The bilayer structure exhibited good flexibility, mechanical stability, and anti-thrombogenic properties, overcoming the drawbacks of vascular grafts, such as high kink radius and tendency toward thrombosis. MTT assays proved cytocompatibility, showing an increase in cell proliferation over 7 days, the optical density of the bilayer vascular graft increased from [Formula: see text] on day [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text] on day [Formula: see text], respectively, due to its fibrous structure and hydrophilic properties.

Background And Objective: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) hyperthermia has the potential to inhibit stent restenosis due to its high efficiency, safety and non-invasiveness. It is crucial to have a good understanding of the characteristics of hemodynamic response and heat transfer in treated tissues for future clinical HIFU hyperthermia.
Methods: An acoustics-thermal-fluid-force coupling model considering acoustic streaming effect and fluid-solid interaction is established to investigate the effects of operating parameters on the hemodynamic characteristics and the temperature distribution in the target region.

Introduction: This was a prospective, randomized, double-masked, multicenter, 24-month study to compare effectiveness and safety outcomes following standalone implantation of two types of current generation trabecular stents in adults with open-angle glaucoma (OAG). An interim analysis was performed at month 6.
Methods: Eyes with OAG, mean IOP ≤ 24 mmHg on zero to three intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering medications at screening, and with baseline mean diurnal IOP (MDIOP) 21-36 mmHg after medication washout were randomized to standalone implantation of the current generation of three trabecular micro-bypass stents (iStent infinite) or one trabecular bypass stent (Hydrus).

Fast virtual stenting (FVS) is a promising preoperative planning aid for thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) of aortic dissection. It aims at digitally predicting the reshaped aortic true lumen (TL) under specific operation plans (stent-graft deployment region and radius) to assess and avoid reoperation risk, but has not yet been applied clinically due to the difficulty in achieving accurate and time-dependent predictions. In this work, we propose a deep-learning-based model for FVS to solve the above problems.
