The Association Between Health Literacy and Depressive Symptoms With the Mediation Role of Family Health and Perceived Social Support in Older Adults: A Nationwide Cross-Sectional Study in China.

Objectives: There was a lack of in-depth understanding of the relationship between health literacy and depressive symptoms, and it was also unclear whether family health and perceived social support mediated this relationship and were negatively associated with the presence of depressive symptoms in older adults. This study aimed to explore the relationship between health literacy and depressive symptoms among older adults, while assessing the mediating roles of family health and perceived social support.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in China in 2021, involving 1147 participants aged 60 and older recruited using a nationwide multistage random sampling method.

We report the recent derivation of the backbone exponent for 2D percolation. In contrast to previously known exactly solved percolation exponents, the backbone exponent is a transcendental number, which is a root of an elementary equation. We also report an exact formula for the probability that there are two disjoint paths of the same color crossing an annulus.

Typhoid fever is a highly contagious tropical disease that requires early diagnosis to avoid rapid spread among communities and long-lasting effects on patients. Standard diagnostic protocols rely on microbial cultures and agglutination assays, which have inherent limitations, including low sensitivity, slow clinical results, and the need for often unavailable reagents and equipment in the regions of the outbreak. Label-free surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a promising chemical identification technology that can be performed in liquid samples.

Local linear model and restoration method of underwater images.

When light transports in water, it will be scattered and absorbed by the water body and water particles, resulting in blurred images and color distortion. In order to improve the quality of underwater imaging, the local linear model and restoration method of underwater images are proposed in this paper. Based on the distance-invariant feature in the local region, the local linear model is established, and the slope and intercept of the model represent the transmission rate and the backscattered light of the local region of the image, respectively.
