Introduction: Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) and stasis ulcers are late complications of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in Behçet's syndrome (BS). We aimed to determine the clinical and histopathological characteristics, treatment modalities, and outcomes in BS patients with stasis ulcers.

Method: We included 63 BS patients with stasis ulcers from a total of 310 with vascular involvement, seen at a multidisciplinary center between January 2021 and July 2022.

Background/aim: Cutaneous melanoma ranks 5th among all cancers in terms of estimated new case rates in men and women (6% and 4%, respectively). The most consistent known modifiable risk factor for a cancer of this severity is exposure to ultraviolet rays. In this study, we aimed to compare the sun protection knowledge, habits and behaviors of CM patients with healthy volunteers.

Article Synopsis
  • Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a chronic autoimmune condition common in older adults, characterized by painful skin blisters; treatments include steroids and immunosuppressants, with omalizumab showing promise.
  • A study followed BP patients treated with omalizumab from 2016 to 2023, focusing on therapy outcomes, adverse effects, and changes in Immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels.
  • Results indicated that omalizumab significantly reduced the need for steroids, improved disease activity scores, and lowered IgE levels, suggesting it is a safe and effective treatment for patients resistant to other therapies.

Pathergy test indicates nonspecific hyper-reactivity of the skin to aseptic trauma in Behçet syndrome (BS) and is considered as an adjunctive diagnostic test with a good specificity albeit with low sensitivity. We tested the hypothesis that a relationship exists between active clinical manifestations of BS and the pathergy-positivity when performed simultaneously. Pathergy test and detailed dermatologic examination were done in 105 BS patients (60M/45F); who were seen consecutively at the multi-disciplinary BS outpatient clinic in a single tertiary center.

Eccrine poroma is a rare benign adnexal neoplasm originating from a portion of the intraepidermal eccrine sweat gland duct and the acrosyringium. Typically, the lesions are asymptomatic, slow-growing nodules, which may be found in any sweat gland-bearing area. Multiple red lacunae, glomerular vessels, hairpin vessels, flower- and leaf-like vascular patterns, a polymorphic vascular pattern, globule/lacunae-like structures, a frog egg-like appearance, and comedo-like openings have been defined as characteristic dermoscopic patterns of the disease.
