A cross-sectional analysis was conducted to evaluate the impact of ichthyosis symptoms on the educational achievement and career choices of adults, or the potential future impact on children. A total of 77 respondents completed a questionnaire assessing the degree to which ichthyosis had impacted, or was expected to impact, their education and career. Responses were categorized as "none," "somewhat," or "greatly.

BackgroundThe increasing prevalence of dementia highlights the urgent need for the social implementation of nonpharmacological interventions for its prevention. To address professional staff shortage challenges, we developed the , a structured resource designed to guide non-professionals in promoting dementia prevention.ObjectiveWe aimed to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of -based multidomain lifestyle interventions provided by nonprofessionals.

However, sex differences in the serum and urine levels of the major vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) isoforms, VEGF-A and VEGF-A, remain unclear. This study aimed to assess these sex-based profiles using a newly developed assay system.

The findings suggest a link between ikizurasa and stress in minority groups, particularly minority ethnic and gender groups.

Fever following immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy may predict ICI-induced liver injury in various malignancy types. However, the association between fever and liver-TRAEs in patients with uHCC treated with Atez/Bev has not been investigated.

It is important to maintain cognitive function or decelerate declines in cognitive function. However, the evidence on lifestyle-based factors associated with this decline is lacking.

Increasing work engagement (WE) for worker health and turnover prevention has gained attention recently. Work-family conflict (WFC), which includes Work Interference with Family (WIF) and Family Interference with Work (FIW), is negatively associated with WE. The effects of WIF/FIW on WE are not fully understood.

Background/objectives: The gene is responsible for autosomal recessive non-syndromic sensorineural hearing loss and is assigned as DFNB18B. To date, 44 causative variants have been reported to cause non-syndromic hearing loss. However, the detailed clinical features for -associated hearing loss remain unclear.

Adult-acquired flatfoot causes various deformities. If a patient-specific foot model can be created using the finite element method, it can be used to study the appropriate surgical technique for each patient. Nine patient-specific flatfoot models were created, and loading simulations were performed.

This study evaluated the effect of histological CAM on postnatal growth trajectories in very preterm infants using a nationwide neonatal database in Japan.
Method: A multicenter retrospective study was conducted using clinical data of 4220 preterm neonates who weighed ≤ 1500 g and were born at < 32 weeks of gestation between 2003-2017 (CAM group: n = 2110; non-CAM group: n = 2110).
Medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy (MDCO) is the standard procedure for flatfoot. We investigated the effect of MDCO on the foot using a finite element analysis. Foot models were created from computed tomography data of 8 patients with flat feet.

By assembling a single-cell atlas of chromatin state within human islets, we identified β cell subtypes governed by either high or low activity of the lineage-determining factor pancreatic duodenal homeobox-1 (PDX1). β cells with reduced PDX1 activity displayed increased chromatin accessibility at latent nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) enhancers.

Objective: To assess the disease severity and QOL in patients with congenital ichthyoses, and to investigate the effectiveness of current treatments.
Objectives: Improving the lifestyle of occupational workers is essential for extending healthy life expectancy. We investigated various lifestyle-related items in a rural Japanese population and compared them between agricultural and non-agricultural workers.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted as a part of the "Iwaki Health Promotion Project.
Background: Few reports have examined the localized regional disparity in representative surgical procedures in orthopaedics and general surgery globally. This study aimed to clarify the inter-prefectural regional disparity and relationships between healthcare resources and representative surgical procedures using a nationwide database in Japan.
Methods: The number of medical specialists in orthopaedics, general surgery, and anaesthesiology, as well as the number of hospitals, and the incidence of representative surgical procedures in orthopaedics and general surgery were evaluated annually per 100,000 inhabitants/people by prefecture in Japan during 2015-2019.
Misalignment of feeding rhythms with the light-dark cycle leads to disrupted peripheral circadian clocks and obesity. Conversely, restricting feeding to the active period mitigates metabolic syndrome through mechanisms that remain unknown. We found that genetic enhancement of adipocyte thermogenesis through ablation of the zinc finger protein 423 (ZFP423) attenuated obesity caused by consumption of a high-fat diet during the inactive (light) period by increasing futile creatine cycling in mice.

Study Design: This was a population-based retrospective study of preterm infants weighing ≤ 1500 g born between 22 and 31 weeks of gestation between 2003 and 2017. After 1:1 stratification matching by four factors (maternal age, gestational age, parity, and year of delivery), a total of 5137 infants in each group (HDP and non-HDP groups) were selected.
Objectives: There is growing evidence regarding the association between rapid growth during infancy and metabolic and cardiovascular diseases later in life. We aimed to evaluate postnatal growth trajectories in extremely and very preterm infants exposed to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) in utero.
Study Design: This multicenter retrospective study used a nationwide database of preterm infants weighing ≤1,500 g born between 22 and 31 weeks of gestation between 2003 and 2015.
