Testicular torsion is a condition of ischemia due to blood flow disturbance, ischemia-reperfusion injury after the detorsion, and compartment syndrome with increased intratesticular pressure. If no improvement in testicular color and appearance is noted after the detorsion, the tunica albuginea incision can be performed to preserve the testis. Case 1: A 13-year-old male came to our hospital with left scrotal pain, and emergency surgery was performed six hours after the onset with the diagnosis of left testicular torsion.

Methods: By performing mouse N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea mutagenesis and exome sequencing, we established a novel mouse line displaying protruded genitalia phenotype (PGP; priapism-like phenotype) and identified a novel gene mutation for PGP.

Objective: Congenitally deaf children with a cochlear implant (CI) improve their speech production intelligibility, but their prosody, including stress and intonation produced by voice pitch and loudness changes, often differs from normal hearing people, which affects their fluent oral communication. This study is aimed to clarify abnormal characteristics of voice pitch and loudness control in CI recipients using a newly developed visually guided pitch change task.
Methods: We included 13 normal hearing volunteers (NH group) and 17 congenitally deaf CI users who showed good speech intelligibility.
This study aimed to compare the physical activity (PA) measured by a wearable sensor device (WSD) and the step count measurement, and to investigate the association between PAs and lifestyle. Data of 301 participants were collected from March 2019 to March 2021. Step counts, sedentary behavior, performance time of light/moderate/vigorous PA, METs × hour of "Locomotive" and "Household" categorized activities, and energy expenditure (EE) were measured by the WSD, respectively.

Psoas muscle index and average total psoas density, which were measured on preoperative computed tomography images at level L3, were used to evaluate sarcopenia and myosteatosis, respectively.
The thymus facilitates mature T cell production by providing a suitable stromal microenvironment. This microenvironment is impaired by radiation and aging which lead to immune system disturbances known as thymic involution. Young adult thymus shows thymic recovery after such involution.

The pharmacological inhibition of the miR-130 family molecules by the seed-targeting strategy with an 8-mer tiny locked nucleic acid (LNA) inhibits the growth, migration, and invasion of bladder cancer cells by repressing stress fiber formation. Here, we searched for a functionally advanced target sequence with LNA for the miR-130 family with low cytotoxicity and found LNA #9 (A(L)^i^i^A(L)^T(L)^T(L)^G(L)^5(L)^A(L)^5(L)^T(L)^G) as a candidate LNA.
