Materials And Methods: Patients with uveitic cataract were randomly allocated for phacoemulsification (n=75) or manual SICS (n=80) in a double blind prospective study.

Purpose: To compare the safety and efficacy of phacoemulsification and manual small incision cataract surgery (SICS) to treat cataract in patients with Fuchs heterochromic iridocyclitis (FHI).

Design: A randomized, double-masked, prospective, multicenter study.

Methods: Consecutive patients with cataract after FHI were randomly assigned to have phacoemulsification or manual SICS by 1 of 2 surgeons experienced in both techniques.

Aims: Prolonged contact lens wear is often accompanied by dryness of the eyes. The aim of this study was to compare conjunctival impression cytology (CIC) and tear film tests such as tear film break up time (TBUT) and Schirmer test for dry eye evaluation in contact lens wearers and measure their correlation with dry eye symptoms.

Setting: A case control study was done at three referral eye centers.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of an omega 3 fatty acid (O3FA) oral supplement (2,400 mg/day) for 45 days on dry eye symptoms, tear production, stability, and conjunctival cytology in young and middle-aged visual display terminal (VDT) users.

Methods: Institutional review board approval was obtained, and a randomized, double-blind, interventional study was done; eyes of 256 VDT users were randomized to receive 4 capsules twice daily for 45 days (O3FA group), each containing 180 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid and 120 mg docosahexaenoic acid. The O3FA group was compared with another group (n=266) who received 8 capsules of a placebo (olive oil).

Bilateral granulocytic sarcoma (chloroma) of the breast in CML in blast crisis: a case report.

A 35 year old lady was diagnosed as having chronic myeloid leukemia in May 1999 and thereafter started on chemotherapy. Three years later the patient presented with bilateral breast masses. FNAC from both the breast lesions showed leukemic infiltration (granulocytic sarcoma).
