We report a novel, simple, and environmentally friendly ultrasound-assisted method for the synthesis of CsAgBiBr nanocrystals. The synthesis is performed entirely at room temperature and under ambient air, without the need for inert atmospheres. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirms an average particle size of approximately 6 nm, while X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy verify the high phase purity and structural stability of the nanocrystals.

Band engineering stands as an efficient route to induce strongly correlated quantum many-body phenomena. Besides inspiring analogies among diverse physical fields, tuning on demand the group velocity is highly attractive in photonics because it allows unconventional flows of light. Λ-schemes offer a route to control the propagation of light in a lattice-free configurations, enabling exotic phases such as slow-light and allowing for highly optical non-linear systems.

The transmission properties of a photonic crystal immersed in several different oils have been characterized using terahertz time domain spectroscopy in the spectral range of 0.3-1.5 THz.

We have developed a continuous wave sub-wavelength terahertz (THz) imaging system that combines two prominent classical optical techniques: solid immersion microscopy and interferometric detection. This combination allows for resolution beyond the diffraction limit at 703 GHz. We experimentally demonstrate sub-wavelength spatial resolution working with a relatively low-cost pyroelectric detector and with both high and low contrast samples.
