Objective: To observe clinical therapeutic effect of abdominal cluster-needling on chronic non-bacterial prostatitis and to probe into indications of abdominal cluster-needling.

Methods: Eighty-seven cases of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis were randomly divided into an abdominal cluster-needling group (n=44) and a western medicine group (n=43). The abdominal cluster-needling group were treated mainly with abdominal cluster-needling at the 9 stimulating points, i.

To investigate how taxane's substituents at C3' affect its metabolism, we compared the metabolism of cephalomannine and paclitaxel, a pair of analogs that differ slightly at the C3' position. After cephalomannine was incubated with human liver microsomes in an NADPH-generating system, two monohydroxylated metabolites (M1 and M2) were detected by liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry. C4'' (M1) and C6alpha (M2) were proposed as the possible hydroxylation sites, and the structure of M1 was confirmed by (1)H NMR.

Aim: To investigate the effect of nanoparticles for antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ASODN) of hTERT mRNA on A549 cells.

Methods: The cationic polybutylcyanoacrylate nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by an emulsion polymerization process in the presence of DEAE-dextran. Antisense oligodeoxynucleotides were loaded on the particles by adsorption.

Aim: To analyze the expression levels of soluble form of CD95, CD95 ligand (sCD95 and sCD95L, respectively) in plasma and CD95 expression on CD3+ cells in liver-transplanted recipients with acute rejection (AR).

Methods: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated from 30 clinically liver transplanted recipients. CD95 expression on CD3+ cells was quantitatively measured by two-color fluorescence activated cell sorter (FACS) analysis.

The effect of nitric oxide (NO) on growth of maize seedlings under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress was studied. The results showed that 0.1-200 mumol/L sodium nitroprusside (SNP), especially 100 mumol/L SNP, increased dry accumulation in maize seedlings significantly, the chlorophyll content, K(+)/Na(+) ratio and (Spd+Spm)/Put ratio, and decreased electrolyte leakage.
