Article Synopsis
  • Increasing evidence suggests that neuroinflammation plays a role in the progression of Parkinson's disease (PD), with long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) significantly impacting inflammatory processes in various diseases.
  • The study focused on lncRNA KCNQ1OT1, finding that its knockdown reduced microglial NLRP3 inflammasome activation and decreased dopaminergic neuronal loss in PD model mice.
  • KCNQ1OT1 functions by binding with miR-186 to promote inflammasome activation and inhibit its silencing, revealing a new regulatory network that could inform future treatments for Parkinson's disease.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate the role of cGAS/STING signaling components in Mooren's ulcer (MU) by comparing tissue samples from MU patients and healthy controls.
  • Researchers utilized various methods, including immunohistochemistry and PCR, to measure the expression levels of specific proteins and genes related to the cGAS/STING pathway in the samples.
  • Results revealed significantly higher levels of cGAS and STING proteins in MU tissues, along with increased production of interferon-β and interferon-stimulated genes, suggesting that this signaling pathway may influence the progression of MU.

Background: This study aimed to explore the efficacy and safety of recombinant human erythropoietin (RHE) for the treatment of severe traumatic brain injury (STBI).

Methods: One hundred and twenty eligible patients with STBI were randomly divided into an intervention group or a control group equally. Patients in the intervention group received RHE.

LaCeF3:Tb microcrystalline was synthesized by microemulsion method, oleic acid-assisted solvothermal method, ultrasonic-assisted solvothermal method separately. LaCeF₃:Tb microcrystalline synthesized by ultrasonic-assisted solvothermal method is rarely reported. Using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), fluorescence spectroscopy (PL) method such as the crystal phase, morphology and luminescence properties of the samples have been characterized.

A new emerging flavivirus caused severe egg-drop in poultry and spread quickly across most duck-producing regions of China in 2010. Complete genome sequencing indicated that the virus genome is 10,989 nucleotides in length and possesses typical flavivirus genome organization, 5' untranslated region (UTR)-Cv-Ci-prM-M-E-NS1-NS2A-NS2B-NS3-NS4A-2K-NS4B-NS5-3'-UTR. The long open reading frame (ORF) encodes 3,425 amino acids (95-10,372 nt).
