Introduction: Orthodontic treatment significantly improves dental aesthetics, occlusal function, and overall oral health. However, maintaining optimal oral hygiene during treatment is challenging because of plaque accumulation around brackets, wires, and bands, which increases the risk of dental caries. Patient perceptions of caries risk and preventive strategies influence their adherence to oral hygiene measures.
