Despite the growth of large-sample hydrology (LSH) datasets, water quality data remain scarce. Here, we introduce CAMELS-CH-Chem, an extension of CAMELS-CH (Catchment Attributes and Meteorology for Large-sample Studies in Switzerland), incorporating up to 40 water quality parameters for 115 Swiss catchments from 1981 to 2020. The dataset includes hourly and daily time series of measurements of water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and electrical conductivity; as well as (bi)monthly measurements of dissolved organic carbon (DOC), total organic carbon (TOC), alkalinity ( ), ammonium ( ), , , total nitrogen, dissolved reactive phosphorus, total filtered phosphorus, total phosphorus, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Na⁺, K⁺, Cl⁻, , HSiO, , total hardness, and stream water isotopes.

This study explored the association between experimentally-induced pain sensitivity and µ-opioid receptor (μOR) availability in patients with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and further investigated any changes in the pain and μOR availability following high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) over the primary motor cortex (M1) with pilot randomized clinical trials. Seven patients with TMD completed either active (n = 3) or sham treatment (n = 4) for 10 daily sessions and underwent positron emission tomography (PET) scans with [C]carfentanil, a selective μOR agonist, a week before and after treatment. PET imaging consisted of an early resting and late phase with the sustained masseteric pain challenge by computer-controlled injection of 5% hypertonic saline.

This research aims to analyze the impacts of the large-scale Alqueva Irrigation System (AIS) on the water cycle in selected sub-basins and the underlying Gabros de Beja aquifer system (GBAS) in Southern Portugal. The Alqueva reservoir and irrigation project is one of the largest strategic water reservoirs in Western Europe and the AIS's primary source. Structural karyotype changes result from ectopic recombination events frequently associated with repetitive DNA. Although most Phaseolus species present relatively stable karyotypes with 2n = 22 chromosomes, the karyotypes of species of the Leptostachyus group show high rates of structural rearrangements, including a nested chromosome fusion that led to the dysploid chromosome number of the group (2n = 20). Karyotypes evolve through numerical and structural chromosome rearrangements. We show that Phaseolus leptostachyus, a wild bean, underwent a rapid genome reshuffling associated with the reduction from 11 to 10 chromosome pairs, but without whole genome duplication, the highest chromosome evolution rate known for plants. Plant karyotypes evolve through structural rearrangements often associated with polyploidy or dysploidy.
