Nutritional management and practices in patients with bronchiolitis on non-invasive ventilation using a total face mask: an international survey in French network.

Unlabelled: Bronchiolitis is a major cause of respiratory failure in infants, necessitating non-invasive ventilation (NIV). While total face masks (TFM) are an alternative to nasal interfaces for NIV, they pose unique challenges for enteral feeding due to their design, which can limit airway access and increase the risk of complications. This study aimed to investigate the feeding practices of pediatric intensivists managing bronchiolitis patients using TFM for NIV.

Role of molecular adsorbent recirculating system in methotrexate-induced acute liver failure: a case report and literature review.

We describe the case of a 14-year-old girl with osteosarcoma who was treated with high-dose methotrexate (12 g/m). Twenty-four hours after the infusion, her plasma methotrexate concentration was elevated at 937 μmol/L (normal < 10 µmol/L). She exhibited severe signs of methotrexate toxicity, including encephalopathy, acute liver failure (ALF), and acute kidney injury.

Total face mask with neurally adjusted ventilatory assist as a rescue therapy in infants with severe bronchiolitis.

Severe bronchiolitis patients are often supported with non-invasive ventilation (NIV). In case of NIV failure, we recently started to use non-invasive neurally adjusted ventilatory assist ventilation (NIV-NAVA) with a total face mask interface (TFM) and report now our experience with this modality of respiratory support. Retrospective study was made from October 2022 to May 2023 at the Geneva University Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Glacier retreat effects on the distribution of benthic assemblages in Martel Inlet (Admiralty Bay, Antarctica).

The Antarctic environment has special characteristics that influence the local marine life. The benthic organisms, adapted to these extreme conditions of life, are subject nowadays to effects of climate change. Recently, the consequences of glacier retreat on these assemblages have been observed in many West Antarctic Peninsula (WAP) regions, including King George Island (KGI).
