Background: Basal ganglia infarct following traumatic head injury is considered rare. Moreover moya moya disease resulting basal ganglia infarct in a child with traumatic head injury is much unusual. Despite considered as a diagnosis of exclusion, tolosa hunt syndrome as late complication following posterior fossa decompression surgery for chiari 1 malformation is a potential differential.
