Integrin_K Channel_Complexes (IKCs), are implicated in neurodevelopment and cause developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) through mechanisms that were poorly understood. Here, we investigate the function of neocortical IKCs formed by voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels Kcnb1 and α5β5 integrin dimers in wild-type (WT) and homozygous knock-in (KI) Kcnb1 mouse model of DEE. Kcnb1 mice suffer from severe cognitive deficit and compulsive behavior.

However, the molecular basis for this functional heterogeneity is poorly understood. Here, a voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channel named KCNB1 (alias Kv2.

In this prospective observational study enrolling septic patients evaluated in two EDs, MR-proADM was measured at arrival (t0) and after 72 h (t72). MR-proADM was calculated as follows: (MR-proADM - MR-proADM)/MR-proADM.

Although highly specific, SARS-CoV-2 reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) has been shown in clinical practice to be affected by a noninsignificant proportion of false-negative results. This study seeks to explore whether the integration of lung ultrasonography with clinical evaluation is associated with increased sensitivity for the diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 pneumonia, and therefore may facilitate the identification of false-negative SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR results.

Background: Vascular access complications may be a cause of discomfort, prolonged hospital stay, and impaired outcomes in patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation.
Aims: To assess vascular access complication in our patients with/without the use of closure devices as a first local benchmark for subsequent quality improvement.
Methods: A nurse-led single-centre prospective survey of all vascular access complications in consecutive patients submitted to cardiac catheterisation during 4 months.
