Introduction: Chronic and end-of-life pain in children is underreported and undermanaged. Current guidelines for pediatric chronic pain include medical and interventional modalities; however, the inclusion of neurosurgical treatments is uncommon and inconsistent. This systematic review presents the literature, and we provide recommendations for the role of neurosurgical procedures in treating chronic and end-of-life pain in children.

NF2-related schwannomatosis (NF2) is a rare autosomal-dominant genetic disorder characterized by bilateral vestibular schwannomas and multiple meningiomas. This case report presents the extremely rare occurrence of an anaplastic meningioma in a 12-year-old male with previously undiagnosed NF2. The patient presented with a history of abdominal pain and episodic emesis, gait unsteadiness, right upper and lower extremity weakness, and facial weakness.

Objectives: Knowledge of Candida spondylodiscitis is limited to case reports and smaller case series. Controversy remains on the most effective diagnostical and therapeutical steps once Candida is suspected. This systematic review summarized all cases of Candida spondylodiscitis reported to date concerning baseline demographics, symptoms, treatment, and prognostic factors.

As such, we present two cases of Serratia periprosthetic joint infections and summarize all known cases to date in the course of a PRISMA criteria-based systematic review.
Case Presentation: Case 1: a 72-year-old Caucasian female with Parkinson's disease and treated breast cancer developed periprosthetic joint infection caused by Serratia marcescens and Bacillus cereus, following multiple prior revisions for recurrent dislocations of her total hip arthroplasty.

Background: Liner malseating is well described in ceramic-on-ceramic total hip arthroplasties (THAs). However, limited information is known on this complication among dual-mobility articulations. As such, this systematic review analyzed liner malseating in dual-mobility THAs concerning prevalence, clinical implications, and associated risk factors.

Introduction: While large progress has been achieved in identifying and treating the most common pathogens involved in periprosthetic joint infections (PJI), there remains limited knowledge on atypical pathogens such as Corynebacterium. For that reason, we analyzed infection and diagnostical characteristics, as well as treatment outcome in Corynebacterium PJI.
Methods: A systematic review was performed based on a structured PubMed and Cochrane Library analysis using the PRISMA algorithm.
Fluorine (F) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is severely limited by a low signal-to noise ratio (SNR), and tapping it for F drug detection in vivo still poses a significant challenge. However, it bears the potential for label-free theranostic imaging. Recently, we detected the fluorinated dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) inhibitor teriflunomide (TF) noninvasively in an animal model of multiple sclerosis (MS) using F MR spectroscopy (MRS).

Objective: To evaluate interest in coronary artery calcium (CAC) among the general public during the past 17 years and to compare trends with real-world data on number of CAC procedures performed.
Methods: We used Google Trends, a publicly available database, to access search query data in a systematic and quantitative fashion to search for CAC-related key terms. Search terms included , , , , and .
Background: In response to the prioritization of healthcare resources towards the COVID-19 pandemic, routine cancer screening and diagnostic have been disrupted, potentially explaining the apparent COVID-era decline in cancer cases and mortality. In this study, we identified temporal trends in public interest in cancer-related health information using the nowcasting tool Google Trends.
Methods: We used Google Trends to query search terms related to cancer types for short-term (September 2019-September 2020) and long-term (September 2016-September 2020) trends in the US.
Background: Reports have suggested decreasing attention to CVD comorbidities during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite their association with worse virus-related outcomes. Using nowcasting tools, we sought to explore temporal trends in public interest by studying use of online search terms related to CVD comorbidities during the pandemic time period.
Methods: We queried Google Trends for recent (October 2019-October 2020) and seasonal (October 2016-October 2020) trends of search terms pertaining to cardiovascular-related behaviors or clinical care including clinical diagnostic and therapeutic-related terms.

Coronary artery calcium (CAC) is a highly specific marker for coronary atherosclerosis. The CAC Consortium, a multicenter, retrospective, real-world cohort study, was established to investigate the association between CAC and long-term, cause-specific mortality. This review summarizes findings from CAC Consortium studies published between 2016 and 2020, aiming to demystify CAC as a clinical decision-guiding tool and push the limits of who might benefit from CAC in clinical practice.

The aim of this study was to quantify recent trends in public interest and related online search behavior for a range of imaging modalities, and "nowcast" future scenarios with respect to imaging use.
Methods: We used Google Trends, a publicly available database to access search query data in systematic and quantitative fashion, to search for key terms related to clinical imaging.
