Currently, the world health organization (WHO) recommends a fixed-dose combination therapy called TLD, composed of tenofovir, lamivudine, and dolutegravir (TLD) for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) treatment. About 23 of 39 million people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) are on a daily TLD pill. In this study, we successfully developed a simple, efficient, and sensitive method to extract and enable the simultaneous quantification of tenofovir, lamivudine, and dolutegravir in rats, non-human primates (NHP), and human plasma samples.

Hearing loss negatively impacts the well-being of millions of people worldwide. Systemic delivery of ototherapeutics has limited efficacy due to severe systemic side effects and the presence of the blood-labyrinth barrier that selectively limits or enables transfer of molecules between plasma and inner ear tissues and fluids. Local drug delivery into the middle and inner ear would be preferable for many newly emerging classes of drugs.

A polymeric gelling delivery system for localized and sustained delivery to jawbone infections was developed. gelling delivery systems were prepared using either Poly(dl-lactic acid) or chitosan and Pluronic F127/Pluronic F68. Metronidazole nanoparticles were prepared using poly(dl-lactide-co-glycolide) or chitosan.
