Patients with cervical myelopathy, radiculopathy, and myeloradiculopathy often experience neck and arm pain, neurological impairments, and functional limitations that significantly affect their quality of life. Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is the most commonly performed surgical procedure to address these conditions. In clinical practice, postoperative rehabilitation is widely recommended following ACDF to enhance recovery.

Patients undergoing open aortic and valvular surgery often experience postoperative deconditioning, yet research on the role of inpatient cardiac rehabilitation (CR) in this population remains limited. This study aimed to examine the effects of inpatient CR on muscle strength, mobility, psychological well-being, and quality of life in patients recovering from open aortic surgery. We conducted a retrospective study using the medical records of patients who participated in inpatient CR after open aortic surgery.

Purpose: Chronic neck pain is a prevalent condition that significantly impairs quality of life and contributes to disability. The cervical facet joint (CFJ) is a common source of neck pain, and intraarticular (IA) corticosteroid injections are widely utilized for symptom relief. However, accurately predicting treatment outcomes remains challenging.

This study evaluates the potential of ChatGPT as a tool for providing information to patients with frozen shoulder, focusing on its validity, utility, and safety. Five experienced physicians selected fourteen key questions on musculoskeletal disorders after discussion and verified their adequacy by consulting one hundred and twenty frozen shoulder patients for additional or alternative inquiries. These questions were input into ChatGPT version 4.

Thrust manipulation is one of the most commonly used techniques for managing musculoskeletal pain in clinical practice. This involves the application of a high-velocity, low-amplitude force directed to the joints with the intent of achieving joint cavitation. This current case report describes a female in her mid-20s who presented with excessive bilateral and involuntary hand muscle contractions after bilateral thrust manipulation.

Thoracic kyphosis is a common postural problem affecting over 20% of adolescents. This condition can contribute to various spinal problems, leading to a decreased ability to perform daily activities, reduced quality of life, and impaired pulmonary function. This review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of exercise programs in adolescents with thoracic kyphosis.

Objective: Bone single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) preferentially localizes areas exhibiting greater bone remodeling and enhanced perfusion, which helps identify areas of pain and inflammation in the lumbar facet joints (LFJs). Herein, we investigated the treatment outcome of intraarticular (IA) corticosteroid injection in patients with LFJ-origin lower back pain (LBP) depending on the presence of increased LFJ uptake on bone SPECT.

Methods: We retrospectively recruited 38 patients with LFJ-origin LBP.

Background: Low back pain and sciatica caused by herniated lumbar discs (HLDs) are common complaints among patients visiting pain clinics. Among the various therapeutic methods, intradiscal ozone injections have emerged as an effective alternative or additional treatment option for HLDs.

Objective: This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the effectiveness of intradiscal ozone injections in the treatment of HLDs.

ChatGPT is perceived as a potential tool for patients diagnosed with herniated lumbar disc (HLD) to ask questions concerning desired information, with provision for necessary responses. In this preliminary study, we assessed the validity, safety, and utility of ChatGPT in patients with HLD. Two physicians specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders discussed and determined the 12 most frequently asked questions by patients with HLD in clinical practice.

Stroke is a common neurological disorder worldwide that can cause significant disabilities. Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is an emerging non-invasive neuromodulation technique that regulates brain oscillations and reshapes brain rhythms. This study aimed to investigate the effect of tACS on functional recovery in patients with stroke.

Background: Chronic pain is common, disruptive, and often treatment-resistant. Hence, researchers and clinicians seek alternative therapies for chronic pain. Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is an emerging neuromodulation technique that non-invasively modulates neural oscillations in the human brain.

(1) Background: Forward head posture (FHP) is one of the most common cervical postural deviations and is characterized by head protrusion or forward head placement in relation to the shoulder in the sagittal plane. Patients with FHP often experience neck pain and disability. The aim of this study was to investigate whether treatment programs are effective in the management of neck pain in patients with FHP.

Background And Objectives: Upper crossed syndrome (UCS) is a common musculoskeletal condition that is characterized by tightness and weakness of the muscles of the neck, shoulders, and upper back. The aim of this current study is to summarize and provide an overview of the treatment in patients with UCS.

Materials And Methods: A MEDLINE (PubMed), Cochrane library, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science database search was conducted for English-language articles about upper crossed syndrome that were published until 19 January 2023.

Objective: Dysphagia is a common clinical condition characterized by difficulty in swallowing. It is sub-classified into oropharyngeal dysphagia, which refers to problems in the mouth and pharynx, and esophageal dysphagia, which refers to problems in the esophageal body and esophagogastric junction. Dysphagia can have a significant negative impact one's physical health and quality of life as its severity increases.

Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most common causes of disability in children. It is characterized by impairment in motor function and coordination and difficulties in performing daily life activities. Previous research supports that neurologic music therapy (NMT) was effective in improving motor function, cognition, and emotional wellbeing in patients with various neurologic disorders.

Background: Cervical facet joint pain (CFP) is one of the most common causes of neck pain and headache. Persistent CFP deteriorates the quality of life of patients and reduces their productivity at work.

Aim: To investigate the effectiveness of pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) stimulation of cervical medial branches in patients with chronic CFP.

Objective: To investigate whether the response to intra-articular facet joint corticosteroid injection can determine the long-term prognosis (at least 5 years after injury) of whiplash injury-related neck pain sustained 3-12 months after injury.

Methods: Of 65 patients who visited a university hospital for persistent whiplash injury-induced axial neck pain sustained 3-12 months after injury (numeric rating scale score ≥3) and had received intra-articular facet joint corticosteroid injection, 40 completed the telephone interview. We divided the patients into "good response group" (≥50% pain reduction at 1 month after the injection) and "poor response group" (<50% pain reduction at 1 month after the injection).

Background: Cervical facet joint (CFJ) pain is commonly seen after whiplash trauma, and is frequently refractory to physical therapy and oral medication. Previous studies have shown positive pain-reducing outcomes after intra-articular (IA) corticosteroid injection in patients with CFJ pain unrelated to injury. We evaluated the effectiveness of IA corticosteroid injection for managing whiplash-related CFJ pain.
